Lost Lilies

Pink & White Lilies - These are some of the lilies that I grew in my garden. I also had red, white and yellow Asiatic lilies. This particular lily was only about three feet tall but bloomed profusely.

Early last Spring we had about a week long late freeze here in Southwest Missouri and I lost all of my beautiful lilies. I had a lot of Asiatic lilies as well as others. Apparently they had started to grow and were killed by the frost. I really miss them and hope to replace them with new bulbs this Fall. Here is a picture of what some of them used to look like:

We had a late frost this year while all of the tulips were in bloom. Everyone covered theirs. I did nothing. The flowers would hang over the stems almost touching the ground but the would straighten up when it got warm. I didn't lose a petal and exerted no energy to save them. I wouldn't worry about it. They are very hardy and should come back next year.
