cousin talking like a baby

Yes I do. Drives me nuts he is 10. He really needs to be in speech therapy, but he goes to private school so he will never get the help he needs. I find that really sad. His mom talks rather strange too so I guess she thinks it is normal. But it is so not normal it makes him sound very childish. Plus the fact he is an only child and is very childish acting it doesn't help! It's hard for me to not be honest. I never said anything to our friends about it because I didn't think it would go over very well. You know your family better than I do. How do you think the mom would take it? If you do talk to her about it I would make sure the child isnt around to hear it. Best of luck!

She is probably doing it for attention. I would tell her that I don't understand baby talk. If she wants to talk to me than she had better use her regualar voice.

she does it because she thinks she is being cute. If it were me, I'd tell her she was being annoying and that I wouldn't talk to her until she starts talking like an adult, and walk away from her. She will get the hint really quickly.
