Do you feed strays?

I noticed some strays that live in my apartment complex that are pretty skinny but they always run from people. The 12 boys (and yes they all belong to one "lady") next door seem to think that animals are fun to be violent towards. Last weekend, while at the mailbox area, I noticed one and it walked over to me and let me pet it and all after a while. Long story short... 5 minutes later I was back with a bowl of water and some food that I put under a bush where it was laying. It's 2 littermates came soon after. Seeing as I was putting this on the landscaped front yard of the complex office... I think it's against the rules. I can't help it, you see them and they're cute so you name them (Mr. Secret, Agent Midnight and Blonde Bombshell) just for fun but once you name it you gotta feed it!
Where I used to live I fed a stray too (Cheesy Poof) and he got a doggie tent, a warming wool pillow and a fish shapped bowl for Christmas that we put in our yard. We left the tent and plenty of food before we moved and someone else in the area used to feed it too.
I always have extra cat food as my cat gets bored with her food but she has food allergies so it's hard to find something that won't make her sick. So we end up with bags upon bags of unused and usually expensive cat food laying around. I see no harm in giving it to those who need it.
That's my stray story... what's yours?

We had a cute cat that looked like the cat from Shrek 2, Puss.
We named him Puss with no boots, and fed him every once and a while and gave him a little cardboard house.

There are quite a few strays where we live, but we have one in particular that we feed, he is the same age as Honey my ginger cat and they sometimes play together in our back garden.
We've named him 'Spare cat' as he always hangs around while ours are being fed, waiting for his turn. :)

lol Spare cat, that's funny. How cute that they play together. I've tried to get my indoor to play but she wants nothing to do with other cats being the antisocial little creature that she is.

It the winter I put out food for the strays. The food was always gone. I figured they would be fine.
Then it snowed one day and guess what I saw? Bird foot prints. LOL The birds were eating all of the cat food. =)

lol That's too funny! Silly birds, it figures. My cat has recently fallen in love with a free sample of dog food I got in the mail. We feed it to her like treats now, lol.

lol you have weird names for kitties but they sound cute :D
actually almost all of the cats we have right now are strays. we have like 6 of them but since they stay around so much i guess we can call them ours but still.. 3 of them are still kinda feral and we can only pet the other 3, the other one is the neighbor's cat and he's a bossy white spotted marmalade cat and 2 sibling kitties that were left by a mother cat in our home which we took care of afterwards :P. We feed them left overs and such every night and every lunch. some of them stay around but they leave the house to go wander around but they always come back to our house to lounge around in the afternoon and evenings lol

That's a lot of cats! Maybe with time those other 3 will let yu pet them as well.

All of my Cats, are strays that were dumped, or born in the area... They are my babies.. I love them and have snuck food out to them all of my life... Then as soon as I got old enough to get allowance I used it on flea and tick powder and ear mite remedy for my cats... My parents were mad at me.. and were not happy with how raw I was after catching and treating every stray cat I could. I did not care about my Kitty Tatoos I love them.. and they deserve to be cared for too.
Now, with losing my home.. I am back at moms with all my cats and kittens there too, She is threatening to get rid of all my cats because they come up to the deck.. Cats are cats does not matter what you do if they want to hunt they are going to hunt... I just wish mine would stop going after birds and go after mice instead...
Maybe a Miracle will happen, and I'll be able to post enough to earn enough to buy a safe plot of land for my Cats to wander around on without having to worry about people like my mother.. who always wish they could shoot them...
I love Cats, Strays or not. If I had enough land, and enough money. I would take in all the strays that I could and care for them.. I would run a retirement farm for unadoptable cats and kittens.. As well as run my ministry etc.. Just dreams I guess..

I know what you mean, I love them too. If I could I'd take them all in. I find that a lot of people around where I live treat the strays as if they were not even life at all, it's sad.

Well, a miracle seems to be starting to happen as I am earning some money now, and I did find new homes for a couple of my little babies.. :) .. So they are spoiled indoor kitties...
I still have 19 cats and kittens to care for, and I love every one of them, Even Robin who is very naughty :) .
