about the movie Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix...
* Yeah, I've watched the movie already and in my own opinion, the movie is alright. It's not that I'm really satisfied with it or that I really don't like it. To be honest, if I wasn't able able to read the book, It'll be hard for me to understand the whole story of Book 5. So far, the special effects was great ( It is always great anyway! ) and the portrayal of the characters were good. I understand that if they did follow the story of the book, it'll take forever for them to finish the movie. LOL! Nah, so far, I like it! How about you guys?;)

I agree with you that it was better by reading the book first. I'm wondering myself if the people who haven't read the book where able to follow the story line. Now for the big wait till next week when the final book is out. It will be interesting to see how it is going to end.

(Forgot to mention he have not read any of the books). He kept on asking tiny details of the story so it's quite obvious he didn't understand at all.LOL! Book 7! Can't wait to read it! ;) Tnx for sharing friend! ;)

You are not the first i heard say that. Thats a big shame. I had great pleassure of seeing the previous Harry Potter film without having read a single word of the storries. Im planning to go and see this new film whith my daughter and have no plans reading the book first , just as usual. So you say i would not be able to follow the storry?

From a movie critic standpoint, the movie was good.
From the standpoint of a fan of the books, it was bad. Yes, the included the main plot line to at least get the story told, but they could have elaborated and done a bit more with the scenes. Everything seemed to quick, flipping from one scene to the next. And little things they left out were disappointing, because they were things that really made the book entertaining. Like they left out Umbridge's evaluation of McGonagall, which was HILARIOUS, and instead, but in that odd, out of place scene with the two of them arguing on the staircase about proper punishment (which obviously was talking about that horrible pen she made Harry use). However, in the movie, McGonagall never found out about that pen, and Umbridge didn't use it on all of the DA....since all of the DA didn't even get caught anyway. To me, I felt like they were changing things just for change sake, which is completely pointless to me. If you're going to take out fantastically entertaining scenes, DO NOT replace them with mediocre scenes that didn't even take place in the book!

I have never read any Harry Potter books but I have watched them all including this latest movie. Taken alone,I would say that the movie is pretty good.
The acting of the students was superb. They made the best with what little screen time they had - some subtle characterization was portrayed well by the actors with looks and the nature of how they delivered lines.
Gary Oldman was great as Sirius Black - again able to portray a good relationship with Harry in little screen time.
The potrayal of Umbridge's reign of terror was very effective.
I have enjoyed the movie.

I would rather the book and enjoy it than watching the movie and looking fo rhte scenes found in the book and watch the movie and not see it there or see scenes in the movie that is not in the book. I would read the book I have no plans to watch the movie. I have high standards and I know the movie would no be put into something we just imagine. So to avoid annoying myself I would rather stay home and chill.

I think it was alright. But i don't usually like the movies because the storyline doesn't make that much sense. It'll be hard for me to understand the concept of this whole story if I hadn't read the book. But I think the movie was pretty good.
