What do you choose between enjoying the life or succeeding in life?

I believe that the life have many choices for everyone. That's make us easily get lose in these choices. How can we make right choice in thousands of choice? In a day, we have 2 hour for thing we want to do, but it is not enough to do all. I have my 24 hour for study, the Internet, eat, sleep, relax, and play. I cannot use 24h to do all things, so I decide to invest them for study, the Internet, eat, sleep, relax but not for play. I rarely go out with my friends, or use time to understand my friends. Because I don't have time, these time I use for my family and lack of time for friends. I gradually lose my friends. I don't try to make all these things I want. I must choose between enjoying or succeeding; and then I want success more strongly. The life is not perfect, I must lose something to get other things. However, I don't know my choice is right or wrong! And you? Do you ever choose these? What do you chooce!

I have a lifetime of experience with this... And the answer is... you don't choose. You need to find the right balance between the two. Eight hours of hard work. Four hours of fun. And 12 hours to sleep, eat, have a shower and drive to and from work. Even better if you can make it more than four hours of fun. And don't forget to have fun during the weekend. Take one or two holidays each year... two weeks at a time. Don't have a holiday at home. Go away. If you choose success... and decide to work all the time... you will get rich... but you will miss out on life. And when you are 65... you will wonder what has happened to your life. If you choose to play... you will enjoy your life. Only problem is that you will not have saved anything for your retirement... when you are too old to work and earn the money you need to keep having fun like you are used to. It is very hard to find that right balance... and most people choose one of the two extremes. But one of my friends once told me... if you cannot do your job in eight hours... you are simply not good enough at your job. That is something worth thinking about.

You know what they say... "Life is what you make of it". If you go to school now... it is because you did not work at school when you had the opportunity to do so. It is alright to do what you are doing if it is a short term thing to make your life easier later on. But if it is a long term thing... talk to me in two years time when you are burnt out and trying to cope with a nervous breakdown. I am not here to tell you how you should live your life. It is your choice and you have to make your own decisions. All I do is provide advice gained through life experience. I know what's work and what's don't. And only the right balance between the two can really work.

I first choose succeeding in life and then enjoying the life. Because if we succeed in life, enjoyment comes automatically. Without success in life, we cannot enjoy anyhing in life. But its in our hands how to plan and work. we should allot time for work as well as spending time with family, friends and relatives. Just continuous working will bring success to life but not happiness or enjoyment. So both should be balanced.

its an impossible choice. if you want to succeed then you dont end up happy because your 'success'(whatever it may be: buiness woman etc) is all you have. Then if you choose to be happy, you are only going to end up upset because you have not succeeded. If you make time for study and your friends then it should work out ok for you

Success of course but if I can have both, why not have it? I would prioritize success over partying at any time but do not forget that you will not totally succeed in life if you do not know how to enjoy life. I'm sorry for people who are workaholics but we really do need to unwind sometime. If you get so tied up with your work, your mind wouldn't be able to function well. Life has to be balanced for you to really be a success. What use is it for you to be a top ranking person but aren't even enjoying your life?

I believe that one can enjoy life and succeed. Or succeed and enjoy life which ever way you put it it's a win-win situation. At present I work 4 Gov collecting taxes which I had doing but I enjoy being out doors. I want to own my very own house with my office where I can just get up when I want and work on my computer. Now in order for me to do that I can't stress myself out but I will succeed so in the mean time on my way to success, I'm enjoying life. I work out when I spend time with my friends I have days for that, days for the beach, days for exercise etc... You should try organizing the things you want to do. PEACE

The ideal setting would be to succeed in life and at the same time enjoying it. Nothing is much better than that combination. That should have the right goal for all people in this world. Unfortunately, the sad bites of reality will always be upon us. Sometimes life could deal us with a lot of blows. Consequently, there are some successful people who got no chance to smell the roses too or having their cake and eat it too. Sad. And there are so much more people who never get to taste the sweetness of success at all. In life, there will always a season for everyone and for everything. Just go on with your schedule and once you will finished your study and get a good job or found a good business, you will probably get to enjoy the sweetness of success.

I would want have a balance of both, I cant be enjoying too much if am not succeeding and I cant suceed without enjoying it. Its always both to make life more beatiful. Not really in the real sense of getting it at a maximum level but at levels whee i can still enjoy my success without hurting the other side of my life.

If you can choose both why not. If you are succeeding then perhaps you could also work on enjoying your life. I am a working mother. I have 3 kids and a loving husband. I am not very successful but I am happy. Basically, I am enjoying my life, but I am also hoping that I would become successful not just in family but also financially.

Well.. its all about prioritizing your options... I believe in this saying, All work and no play makes jack a dull boy!! So, I allocate time depending upon my priorities!! I too was in a confusion at some point of time!! But, I got used to it and now things just go fine for me!!! Ofcourse, you have to study, work hard to achieve something, but I would say do not miss to enjoy your school and college days.. They will never come back!!!

Life is complicated I like to have friends I love help friends because all my friends are their own problems i like to visit them but not everyday i have enough time to do it I have my own family a child a husband i have to clean house and have to do it everyday but i always think about my friends. Choices in life are definitively preference decissions so you must accept whatever you're decided because you couldn't go back all choices happens because have some meaning some sense.

As the same as your choice! I am a poor postgraduate I do not own splendid social background or very money. Unfortunately, I have to make a future for myself in the intense competitive society. In fact I think everyone prefers comfortable life rather than striving work, however, if at present I choose a comfortable life, during the period of a student, I am sure I will not live pleasantly after graduation. How funny! So my friend, I think your choice is exactly right! Go on and do not hesitate! Success belongs to lonely but strong man!!

I would have to choose both. Everyone wants to succeed, you can't walk up to anyone and and they tell you that they dont want to have a successful life. So that there is a basic answer. But mosly everyone wants to enjoy their life also. Life again is very short you have to live your life to the fullest. Me however, I live my life in the moment. You never know whats gonna happen next so you do what you can do while you can. Some things I choose to do make override others. I loose out on alot of my priorities because I want to do something enjoyable. But then agian I push myself into doing what I have to do to better myself in life. Sometimes I just want to sit around on the computer and play aorund and have fun, forgetting that I have to study for a test, wake up early for a class. Sometimes I will miss out on a really big concert or party just to stay home and study or get something important done. Its all about what you choose to do with your life in the moment. Sometimes you choose the wrong things but you just have to learn. I want to be very sucessful in life. But I also want to enjoy it. I don't know which I want mroe becaseu you have to want both. Its all about pushing yourself to doing what yo want to do, but be careful about the decision you make. You can't be hard atwok all the time, you have to take a break and have fun. But you can't be a party animal also, you have to get your priorities together.

well i think life is all about balance. in nature everything is in balance and so we need to balance ourself. we cannot avoid one aspect of life and live with another. in our short span of life we have to do a lot of things and there are stages when we have to choose. these are the crucial points in every persons life and these decision decide how and what kind of person you are. each and every road you choose small or big has a very intense connection in your life and so i think you should decide between time and importance and then decide on what you want.

Nobody's perfect. Life is full of ups and downs, so just try your best to balance your life, meaning, you have to take care of yourself by trying to relax and enjoy now and then. Remember the saying, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. If you there are things that you do wrong, learn from your mistakes but don't dwell on regrets.

When I was 11 years old I started working at one point I was working 2 jobs and still going to school. Just to make up for my parents laziness. At that point I only knew that if I didn't do my job I would be homeless and hungry. Now as I got older I understood what was going on, and left. The reason I say this is for the fact that as a person, I know first hand what it's like to not have fun to have. Always having to work. Whats the point in life if we work all the time. I don't believe in that anymore. Now I work to pay the bills and thats it nothing more. That gives me time to do what I wish to do. I enjoy life not work, and I know many would agree with me on that.
