My suggestion would be to buy a flat rate service. I didn't even realize there were people who paid based on use any more. I hope you are not posting for the money. It would be very difficult to make any money starting $20 in the hole.

No, my internet bill is not raised at all. I am on a flat rate for unlimited usage and therefore I can get online 24/7. I think maybe you should check out the plans with your internet service provider, it's just much more convenience to have internet access all the time and from other mylottians, I don't think it's really that expensive to have a flat rate plan. I love the unlimited access plan because I don't really need to think about or care too much about how many minutes I am online. That saves my brain's trouble!

I was using BSNL's broadband which besides monthly fixed charges, adds to the bill depending on the total download. If it exceeds the fixed download, they charge. I was forced to pay Rs.21,000 (500 US$) for 4 months additional download. Immediately I got my internet disconnected. Now I use Air Tel. The charges are fixed Rs.1,150 (Phone is free, rent is inclusive, only to pay, if I make outgoing calls). Download is unlimited. Home plan. Just check it up. You will not be earning that much from mylot to pay for internet connection. You are taken for a ride.

My internet bill has not been raised, but I am on a fast internet connection and my husband also searches for radio programs that he downloads and he is an avid bridge player. We are on line all the time. There is also a super duper extremely heavy duty internet connection, but we do not have a business where that would be feasible. You were probably on a light connection before.

No mine is the same, I pay a set fee every month no matter how many hours I spend surfing. If I had to pay based on the time I spent on the net, oh man hubby would have to get a second job, lol

You need to ditch your provider yesterday, because that is outrageous if that is in the United States. My Internet is through my cable provider and is a flat rate. It's a high speed modem. is $30 for a smoking fast 300k that goes 24/7. It is also used for listening to online music and video.

I have unlimited use of my internet service, so Mylot has no affect on it. If my bill went up due to Mylot, then Mylot would not be worth it to me.

My internet bill is fixed every month, it's RMB150 yuan and it's about $20 dollars. Fortunately the payment is fixed. That means to say even if I am online for a whole day, the internet charge is still the same. This is why I am not worried to be online all the time:)

Hello Coolgeth,
I am using broadband at home. Mine is fixed for a month. It doesn't matter whether I used it for an hour or 24 hours a day as the price is fixed. That saves me a lot. I normally switch on my pc and access to internet at least 12 hours a day.

Wow! I didn't know there was still such a thing as paying per hour/per use?!?!
I am on dialup and I pay one rate 24/7, regardless of use. $6.95 per month.
Definately shop around for what's available to you ... you're being hosed if you have to pay per use/hour.

Hi,i never had this problem and always it is the same as we took our internet in package with our telephone and the bill includes in the landline connection and it is not more expensive every month we pay.

I am sorry your bill has risen because of mylot! Luckily I have not had this experience because we have unlimited broadband access as well as local and national calls for £20 a month - I think that is around $40 ! It is well worth it as I can be on the internet all day everyday and not pay a penny more - thank Goodness! xxx

If you are using a dial-up connection you might be paying your internet by the hourly usage, in that case you are likely to increase your monthly bill. But if you subscribe to a flat rate connection and unlimited type you could even save a lot.
What has increased in my bill is the power consumption or electricity. I used to pay monthly amounting to $15 but it has increased to $25 now since I have been using internet.

Wow! What kind of internet service provider do you have? Do you pay by the hour or something? I pay for unlimited dialup but with a flat rate of $25.00 a month. I can’t imagine spending anymore than the $25.00. I spend a lot of time here on and off most of the night but I have never seen an increase in my internet service billing. I hope you earn enough to cover for the expenses.

I have cable access with my cable for TV. I pay $97.00 every month, $39.95 for internet and the rest goes for digital HD movie channels. It's the best in my area. this time last year I was paying $109.00 each month, with no digital movie channels. I found and got locked in the deal for 1 year. I haven't used dial up, since 1999, and I won't be going back anytime in the future.
