help new mylot user question: what does the star on top of the avatar mean?

im just curious about the stars on top of the avatars that have numbers on them.. how do you get them and what do they exactly mean? does it credit from having a user select your comment as a "best response"? do you earn more with those?

Star rating on the top of the name indaicates your rating in the mylot which actually reflects the quality of postings you are posting here.People rates you either + or - depending on the quality of your discussion or response.According to that rating,your star rating also goes up.
