I think it happens to most if not all of us. It's a nice feeling to have solitude and simply feel at peace with yourself and the world. I know of someone who loves her single-blessedness and independence. I guess everyone of us is unique.

I wouldn't consider wanting to be alone selfish. More like a need or atleast in my situation it is. If I am not alone when I am in cranky moods and such I piss everyone off.
Maybe you just haven't found people you want to be with often? Like there are certain people I usually don't mind being with, but there is one person in particular that often annoys me and he really does nothing wrong.

Yeah I feel like that sometimes. I know why though. My house is so crazy I sometimes just want to pull my hair out and scream. this craziness comes mostly from my brother and my sister. My smaller sister is not so loud especially when she's with me, but the other two just make her go crazy and i just hate it. So i love it when I stay to babysit with her alone because i just get to rest and not hear any noise and just watch t.v. or go online without anyone bothering me at all.

Yeah I know it's like your in paradise or something. It feels good to know no one is going to start screaming or bothering for quite a while.

Yes, yes, yes. I love being alone. I feel more at peace, and more productive. After having 4 children and a husband, and now 4 grandchildren, alone time is my favorite time.

I felt that a lot of times. What i do is that I go to a place where I really want to relax by myself.

I tend to get in that set of mind at times. It happens mainly when I forget to take my depression medication, there are times when I just don't want to see certain people though.

Of course, everybody does at some point. Everybody needs time to themselves to concentrate, focus and just be alone to give yourself a mental break. I have two kids and when I have a minute to myself, it's such a reflief sometimes. Other times I can't even take a breather because I've got so much to do I don't know where to start. Then, I get moments like this when the kids are quiet and I can relax and surf the net.
Take care

I'm the same way and I have been for as long as I can remember. I have a few friends that always have to be surrounded by people, but I always prefer to stay at home and have 'me time'. I don't have that constant need to companionship. I'm married and my husband goes to a friend's house to play video games 2 nights a week. Those are my days to kick back and relax...all alone.:) I don't always want to be alone, obviously I love having my hubby around and I do like being with friends, but I do like having that personal time. I know exactly how you feel.

yes i do its just about having time for yourself. Everyone needs it just to rejuvinate our bodies. As we are around alot of people most of the time its nice just to be by oneself.

Yep i sure do, and i think its a pretty common and normal feeling. I think we all get to the point now and again where we just need to unplug ourselfs, and think of absolutely nothing. I sure dont think it is something you should be ashamed of or feel guilt about
