I'm busy getting ready for Christmas and Winter. I have a lot of the books but sometimes I just want something easy that I don't have to think about too hard. LOL I'm always looking for ideas on what to make. I look at stores and in mags. to see what is in this year. I was just wondering where you get your ideas from? Is there a site you like to go to for ideas? Will you share it with me please?

Busy knitting for winter. You remind me of the animal--squirrel. They are animals good at storing nuts in summer and autumn for the cold winter, a very nice and cute animal, which knows how to spend the cold winter when it is still warm. Life is just this. Save and store things enough for us to live better when we are old enough to get retired. Happy knitting for fun and for winter, my dear friend.

Oh, yes. She knows that. I forgot to say that my wife is very good at knitting sweaters for us to wear in winter. She knits every year for the family. I appreciate her very much and you as well for the knitting job for the family. You are both very caring. Happy knitting, friend.

William that is so sweet. I would love to know your wife, we have so much in common. Tell her even though we don't know each other that I am her friend in America. :)

I tend to make most of my knitting up as I go along. At the moment I'm knitting thick winter hats but I aso need to start on some more socks soon. I don't much care for knitting large thing slike jumpers, I get bored before I get to the second sleeve, though I do rather fancy knitting a little shrug or bolero to wear instead of a cardigan in the autumn. Must look out for a good pattern for that!

I have started thinking about knitting for winter myself. it's hard to motivate when it's 90 degress but I know it's good to have a stach of knitting ready for gifts and such. Some sites that I look to for inspirations are: www.knitty.com http://www.lionbrand.com/ I subscribe to the lion mailing list so I get pattern ideas and such in my email too. That helps. I am with you though, sometimes it's nice to work on aproject that you don't have to think too hard on. I find there are some scarf patterns that are good for that, even a simple rib or seed stitch would work.

i think knitting makes good gifts to give for Christmas and i love to start in the spring knitting stuff that will be done and ready to use by the time winter rolls around i do not have any knitting books because i do not like to read anything including knitting books i think if you want something easy you should try knitting a scarf or a big fluffy winter blanket or a pair of socks i also am always looking for ideas on what to make next i usually get the ideas from the top of my head on what to make i would rather make stuff than i would to buy it
