Would You Pay $55 for a Bottle of Water

I saw this CBS story on Yahoo about exotic bottled water. They actually call it "bling" water. It would cost up to $55 for less than a litre of water. They say they go to extreme length to source the water from different parts of the world. The water contains different kinds of minerals like potassium, calcium and so on.
They are bottled in very beautifully carved bottles and they claimed Americans spent more on bottled water last year than they did on i-pods.
The question is, are you willing to pay this amount for bottled water?

Hello 2wicelot!:-)
I already don't use bottled water as such. I use tap water because it's ultimately more healthy! It's not only isn't heavy on my pocket, thus relieving me from monetary worries and problems associated with it, but it also keeps up my natural immune system which in turn is better for my general health.
I have used bottled water occasionally though, during traveling, or for some time oas per advice of doctor during brief illness (which is not usually the case with me either) etc otherwise I keep myself out of reach of bottled water. I am a simple person and love to remain so.
So, I definitely wouldn't pay $55 for a bottle of water. I wonder who pays for it? Perhaps only those who have so much that they don't even know how much! or perhaps who want them to be seen as stylish, or perhaps just for fun or just to brag about having "drunk" such a water!. Any of these or similar reason don't apply to me. I don't know why don't people find some much needed use of money when they can see people around who are in need!

I think it is as you said, it is people who may just want to brag or to show off who may be interested in buying this stuff. It may not be enough that they show off in those huge hummer jeeps but they may want to show off in the water they drink as well.

Since I refuse to buy regular bottled water I seriously doubt I will ever buy that crap.
I saw another clip once about a guy who sells lol, holy bottled water. He just bottles up water with a special label then has a priest bless it on the skids in the warehouse. What a joke.
I remember back in the day when there wasn't bottled water we just drank it from the tap.

Never i will pay such a huge amount for water..I think its enough for me to drink water which is pure as i dont expect any extra minerals added in it which can be gained by eating other food stuffs rich in minerals and vitamins.Hope even if we purchase those other items rich in minerals we dont have the need to spend this big amount.
only in times of emergency i buy bottled water otherwise i will carry a water bottle or drink water if i find its from a clean source.

i dont think we have that luxury! i'd rather save the money for my daughter's education than spending it in a very expensive bottled water. what's in it anyway? minerals? things you can get also from other food source, at a cheaper price.

Good grief this is madness. There are people in this world dying every day because they do not have a decent water supply, drinking tainted, muddy puddles and surviving as best they can. At the same time, idiots are paying stupid amounts for a bottle of water - utter madness

sounds funny!!:D i couldn't stop laughing at this! it's only a new style statement for those who don't have anything better to do than showing off themselves!;) of course i m not going to pay so much for the bottle. i don't see why minerals attract us so much? if you want to sale something just boast off how healthy it is and how much minerals or proteins it has and then you'll see people running after it! i would just say "go dear instead of spending so much money explore for yourself that how could you get them in your own environment or how can you utilize those resources you already have, rather than businessmen coming and selling you out such products!" even if i ever need to drink "very pure water" than i would better boil my ordinary water instead of paying 55 bucks for a "around the world minerals" enriched water!:P

If it it just mineral water, I would not spend it. However, I have spend something
around the same price for some health supplement drink which is supposed to contain
the necessary minerals and nutrients for the human body. It is not meant to be
consumed in a day but across a month. My friend tried it and claims it really helps
to improve the health.

You wouldn't catch me paying $55 for a bottle of water. Someone must have money burning in their pocket to want to spend this much for a bottle of water.

I refuse to pay for bottled water fullstop unless I'm in a third world country where I know it's not safe to drink the water from the tap or filter it. But in my country there is no way I'd by bottled water when the water out of the tap is just as good or sometimes even better lol!

Water is only water .There is no way i would ever consider paying that much for water .I do not drink water i only use it in my coffee. No matter where they go for the sourse of it water comes from the same place .Some people are really gulliable when it comes to marketing .I bet if it was compared to ordinary water there would not be much difference at all.
I suppose there are some that collect these beautiful bottles and usually thats what you will be paying for in the end not the actuall content of it .

No I would not. I drink bottled water. One glass a day minimum. It costs me pennnies per bottle It is usually always bought when on sale. However I often drink our tap water and keep a jug full of it in the fridge. The jug has a replaceable charcoal filter. The best water I've ever tasted was from, a naturaly formed Spring at a Shrine close to my city. I have tasted most of the European waters direct from their source. An example would be the Evian water in France. They say,so the story goes, water will one day cost more per small bottle than a gallon of gas.

Oh, be sure I won't buy it. It's so luxurious for a bottle of water only. This kind of water can keep you healthy forever? Can it cure the sickness? Will you feel happy to drink it? I don't think so. Drinking it may just show how rich you are to others. There is no other function:)

It is too expensive to buy it for me. If I have enough money, I would buy it without hesitate.
Now I quit my job in real life, and I hope I can make enough money online, but it is impossible to achieve it,so now I'm in trouble of lacking of money. How can I buy such expensive water.
