Where is your least favorite place to go?

So if we exclude Doctors offices. If we exclude Dentists. If we exclude all places similar to Doctors and Dentists. If we also exclude your job(s) and place of work AND relatives houses... Where is your least favorite place to go? I'm excluding the typical answers, doctors, work and family. So besides the obvious, where do you hate to go? The grocery store? The mall? What place do you just dread having to go? For me, it's the BANK! I don't know why, but I would rather go just about ANYWHERE then go to the bank. I had to go to the bank yesterday evening to get some money out for something and I went to the bank closest to my house, not to mention it was next to the grocery store and I needed to pick up a few things. So I go to the bank and BOTH the walk-up and drive through ATMS were Out of Order. Last week when I went to the bank there was some man at the teller blocking the drive-up atm (and they don't have a walk-up) so I got out of my car in the drive-thru and walked up to the ATM to use it while he was busy at the teller. (I waited 15 minutes before doing so!). I loathe going to the bank! Where do you hate going?

Hahahaha..I had fun reading your discussion post. For me, its the public restroom. I hate the queue the smell and the state of the cubicles. I'd rather wait or use a pay-per-use than to get in line, only to use a smelly foul and dirty bowl.

I totally agree with you~! I can't stand any public toilets that are filthy and smelly. I once stopped at a hotel just to use the ladies.. :P I don't mind the ones at malls though.. They're usually very clean.

Wow do you actually have a pay-per-use restroom!? that's crazy! I've never seen one of them. Public restrooms are a hazard sometimes and I definitely avoid them, but I'm usually pretty good about not using them until I get to my own house. It amazes me how gross people are with the public restrooms and it always makes me wonder what their home bathroom looks like.

Oh I hate the public restrooms too! I try to avoid them like the plagues they are but I've got a small bladder! I've never heard of a pay-per-use restroom though!

ha ha. Yeah, I wish I would have picked my bank for those reasons. when I was 18 I wanted a bank account and my parents wanted me to go for the one I went for because it was new. but it's way too local.

ha. I can't stand crowded stores also. I'm one who goes out at weird times to try my best to avoid crowds. I rarely go in the bank myself, just the ATM, but I HATE when the atms are out of order! plus my bank is a rarity and there is not a single one that is convenient to my home that I don't have to go out of my way to go too without having to pay extra money to use another banks atm!

LOL - funny topic :) I guess I hate going grocery shopping. I hate looking at the high prices for soda's when they're not on sale. I hate the crowds. I just hate it all. It's all very annoying. Drive to the grocery store, you get a cart, load it up, unload it onto the belt, usually you load it back into your cart, pay for it, then unload it into your car, put up the cart (if your nice anyway LOL), drive home, unload it out of your car, then you finally get the privilege of putting it all away. Yep very annoying. But what are you going do to? You got to eat LOL. I'm surprised that your bank doesn't have a separate drive though for their ATM. That's got to suck!

my topics are usually revolved around something that annoys me at the time! Ha ha. I'm so weird. I love grocery shopping. I do hate taking them out of the car into my apt, because I live up a bunch of stairs and I hate putting stuff away (my cat has to inspect EVERYTHING first!) Oh my bank is the worst. It's a small and local joint so there aren't many branches. None of them are in a convenient place for me and I've only seen one that has a walk-up atm. It's ridiculous!

just about any state related office.city hall,DMV,you name it. i think they hire the rudest,non-informative,departmental bingo-ing people on earth. i think they shuffle you around on purpose so you'll give up what you're trying to ask them.

Ah yes. State people are no Good! I work at the public library administrative offices and we deal with them a lot. My marketing managers brother-in-law works for the county council so she has a bit of in with one person but otherwise they're all idiots. so I know what you're saying.

i hated going to the bank when there are long lines. it is really a pain when you're next in line and the person before you is taking too long because he is counting his bags of coins. i just don't like waiting for that long because it makes me furious standing there for how many minutes.

Oh yes, that's definitely a good reason. Especially when you wait 20 minutes for something that's going to spend 2 minutes accomplishing! especially when they only have one teller open. it's infuriating sometimes for sure.

The places I don't like to go to are hospitals and any place that is crowded and rowdy. I don't like going to markets where I have to bargain. I have to deal with the crowd then drag on prices with the traders. Just tell me the real price from the start and let me know if I can pay or not, but they would want to to tell you a high figure so you keep dragging this way and that way till you reach a settlement. As for hospitals, i really don't like the smell.

Crowded places are definitely no fun. I'm not a fan of hospitals myself, luckily I haven't had to go too often. Even when folks I know have been in there I've tried my best to avoid them :\ I don't usually do those markets things but trying to argue on prices is frustrating.

I do not like being stuck in rush hour traffic. I have to sit in it and waste gas when I could be getting to where I need to go instead. That annoys me so much.

You know, I hear that. I actually have anxiety attacks and pretty much can't drive in rush hour. I used to work till 5 and i'd drive back roads home, but I finally switched my hours around so I get off at 4 instead so I don't have to deal with as much rush hour after work!

Well, since you excluded the gyno's office, I would have to say the grocery store. I don't mind putting the stuff into the cart, but when I get to the checkout there is a huge line. Then I shlepp it to the car, and lift the heavy sacks. My back is very messed up, so that isn't fun. But the worst is coming back to my apartment and having to carry the bags down the stairs. Yes, I said down the stairs. I live below main level. Since I can't take all the bags at the same time, I make several trips. I just love it when my mom decides to come with me and help me. It's just to bad that is once in a blue moon, LOL. I guess she does it enough for her own house, she doesn't need to bother with mine.

Ha ha. I should have excluded the grocery store too. I think it's so funny because that's a lot of peoples answer. I love that place though. I'm pretty good at avoiding the crowded times. Do you have any kids in the apartment complex? It'd be great if you could pay a kid a couple bucks to help you out with groceries! I have to walk up a bunch of steps because I live above a garage. it's something like 15 -20 steps. So i hear you on the steps!

raychill, I think for me, the least favorite place I go is downtown so that I can use low-income services. It is a necessity for me to do so sometimes and it is difficult for me to be around some of the other people who require services in a certain downtown sector. A lot of the people have far worse situations than I currently have and they're much angrier than I am. I don't feel too 'chatty' when I go downtown lately, so I don't feel that I am able to cheer anyone up, assist anyone or anything. I'm still not sure if I feel more discomfort while I'm actually in the situation, accessing resources - or if I feel a higher discomfort and sadness (hopelessness) once I get home. I guess there are different kinds of discomfort. Knowing that there are dozens of people that I know, personally, who are without a decent 'home' is quite a discomfort. Knowing that they're in that situation mainly because their work hours got cut back, the price of food went up, and rents have sky-rocketed, is downright disturbing. The anxiety and limited pain of a visit to the dentist would be more manageable, I think. It would only last a couple of hours. The anxiety of wondering if some of my acquaintances have found a spot in one of the shelters or are sleeping outside overnight is quite a bit worse. Definitely, downtown is my least favorite place to go this summer.

I wouldn't want to be in that situation either. That doesn't seem to be a good thing at all. I guess we're all fortunate enough to not have to deal with that so just a trip to the dentists IS the worst thing. I'm sorry you're in that sort of position where that is the worst thing. I have a co-worker who helps out a lot of homeless and people in need. she's always telling us stories about it.. it's not her job, just something she does on the side. but it's definitely not a fun way to live.

Besides doctors and so on, there really isn't much places that I wouldn't want to go. But places and more specifically times that irritate myself includes going the bank. The lines are always long and don't seem to be moving at all. They should have an express lane with a time limit because I usually go just to pay off something and that takes me 5 seconds to tell them and then they take less than a minute to process it. Other places are driving during peak hour. Although I live far from the city and don't usually drive to far places anyways, I live right on the edge of a highway which is the main access point to most other location. So at times it would take me 15 minutes just to drive to the local shop due to the traffic where normally it would take less than 5 minutes.

Well that's good. I definitely hate the bank. I'm not a big fan of the "mall" either. Or most shopping centers. I don't go out too often either. and I live off a main highway, but only about 20 minutes from the city limits. It's always best to go places "off peak"!

For me it has to be a public bathroom. Its disgusting in the mens room no one flushes and only a handful wash their hands before leaving so the doorknob is always full of germs. The stench is also terrible and for me it just feels awkward going in public.

Wow. I always thought ladies rooms were worse than mens rooms. But that's interesting to hear a mens room is worse too. I hear you though, My restrooms at my job get cleaned every morning, yet sometimes when you go in the middle of the day it's so disgusting! and we're an office building! not a public place!

I don't like trains, particularly at night. I feel cooped in and powerless. I particularly hate them when they stop between stations. I avoid them if at all possible. I don't like public transport. I don't like anywhere I can't leave in a split instant!

I hate going to nightclubs where everyone dresses in designer clothes and all the girls have hair extensions and fake nails and the guys all wear pink collared shirts and expensive italian leather shoes. I like to dress individually and in the past when i've reluctantly tagged along with friends who've wanted to go to places like this, I've absolutely hated it and felt like an outcast. I can't stand the whole prententious popularity contest thing. I'd rather go to a bar or a place where you can just hang out and have a few drinks, wear whatever clothes you want and not be judged.

haha. Good one. I don't think I've ever been to a club like that, but I know the type of places. I pretty much loathe bars with college kids. I hate the college scene. I'm glad I didn't go just to avoid the scene! So I can understand the hate of going to clubs like that. bars where you can just hang out are the way to go.

I didn't get this discussion either. I sent you a message Sunday but I don't know if you got it or not. Anyway...I hate going to the grocery store! My husband is like a woman and it sucks. He is always comparing prices and looking for deals, and I'm dragging my feet and looking bored like I used to when shopping with my mom. My bank also sucks to go to because the women there are super slow. You wait and wait and finally they complete your transaction after you've been waiting in line for half an hour.:P

I don't do the whole comparing prices and deals things though! that's silly. The bank definitely sucks. I hate it!

I would say it was going to court. I was a witness and I didn't want to go. I was so nervous I started scratching my skin around my nails and they were bleeding. I was only a kid though. But now when I am at a place that makes me feel very uncomfortable I start picking at them. I wouldn't want to go to court if I didn't have to.
