The problem with posting too many discussions at once...

I think I just posted more discussions today than I ever have before. The problem I just found out, is that now, I'm finding it hard to leave. I have things to do, but I keep getting responses and I want to see what they say. I like to read the responses and reply to them when it seems I should.
Help! I'm stuck in myLot! lol
Just kidding!
I'm leaving now.
I'll be back later to see if this has happened to anyone else!
See ya!
I'll be back :-)

Miamilady, that's what I discovered too. Unless I have lots of time and superfast internet connection, I find it hard to continue posting responses as well as following up with the responses to my discussions. It is just funny, at times the ideas just flow and I have more than one discussions available. Now I hold whatever discussions I may have and try to post only a discussion a day if possible. Sort of balance out my mind before my big head explodes. lol.

haha I have never received so many discussions from you in one setting either miamilady. Good for you. As for not doing any tasks I am in that mode right now. I am not posting discussions but I have lots of email notifications to respond to and its 12.30pm. I better get lunch ready for my son and I. See you back here in 2 minutes LOL

lol It was a little longer than two minutes. I guess my routine has been coming into myLot during the morning hours and then again at night. In the afternoons I'm usually out running errands etc.

yes mylot will suck you in and never let you go. that is why you need to start some discussion and then run for the door. so this way when you get back you will see that everyone responded to your post. how cool is that

I have done that too. I guess that's the key. Running away before the responses start to come in, cuz once you see a response, the urge to read it is almost irresistable.

Oh yes - this always happens to me. I am not a prolific discussion starter, and this is actually one of the reasons why! The other day I started four in one day (a record for me!) and it actually took me two days to rate and reply to all of them - which of course, means I had no time to look at any of my friends' discussions. I know some people just start topics and never bother to go back to them (it's all about making money for them), - but I think it's pretty rude to ignore people who have taken the time and trouble to reply to anything I have started, - as well as being interested in their responses and ideas, - and it does take ages!

I don't response to every single response because I don't always have something worthwhile to say back, but I do read them all and if I can think of something worthwhile to reply back with I will.
I do need to backtrack and start rating the responses. I've been lax in that.
Sorry!

Oh yes, I have found that myLot can become very addictive. There a lots of days when I think to myself, just one more message and I'm going off-line, but then that turns into 3, 4 or even more before I finally quit for the day... Great fun though..
I tend to respond to discussions more than post these days.. I'll have to think of something to start though :-)

Hi, I just started on myLot tonight. After looking at some of these awesome discussions, I can see why some people are getting addicted to it. haha. I have not suffered from myLot addiction YET(first day!!). Wonder if this will be more addicting than Facebook?

Welcome to myLot. Let me know if you like it better than Facebook. I've never been in there, but I've heard of it. It's geared more to college students, isn't it?

Well yes, it used to be geared exclusively to college students, but now they have opened up the site to high school students. Despite its simple interface and communication, its highly addictive too. This is like facebook, except with pay. haha. But im not here for pay, even though i earned $0.02 already. cya.

I understand absolutely, just pluck yourself off that chair and go handle any other business, because if you stay any more minute, you will need to answer this reponse of mine as well! See you later miamilady!

I get swamped with the responses I post. I respond to a discussion and they reply. I reply back and it goes on and on. I am not complaining. It is good to see what people say. And if what they say triggers a response, that's great. The great thing about My Lot,there's isn't a time limit on when you respond. So take your time, and have fun.

When this happens, you have to use self-talk. Move away from the computer. No, don't bother to turn it off, just move away slowly. Turn away and don't look back. Oh, now something else looks interesting to do, do it, and keep doing it. Forget all about that site on the computer. What's the name of it again? Ha, just kidding. I get stuck on Mylot sometime too, but at least you can still have a feeling of accomplishment.

What a nice problem to have...too many responses!! Haha ;)
I actually don't create that many discussions for this very reason! I can't handle having too many discussions to reply to and read through, so I only do one like once at week. LOL. That may be a little extreme though, I realise! I just enjoy replying to friends and other's discussions so much better than my own, so if I have a ton of my own to get to it starts to get a little tedious.
Anyway, good luck with all those discussions! Lol.

There are days where I focus more on posting responses than posting discussions. But some days, I can't find many discussions that I can relate to. Plus, I just tend to ponder stuff a lot and I like to know if others think like I do or if they think differently.

I don't start a lot of discussions, but when I have started them, I find it hard to leave. Granted since I have been back from vacation, I have had a hard time starting and replying to discussions. I wish I could find that balance that I had before going on vacation, but I have been dealing with something that has caught me off guard and not sure how to proceed. So I have been putting more thought into that than into responses here in My Lot.

Hello miamilady,
I want to see how long it takes for you to leave a comment for my response here *laugh* Well, you already left and I hope it's true...
I am agree with you that sometimes, My Lot can be addictive too. It happened to me before, when I started to join this site. Whenever I am mylotting here, I will tell myself too often that it will be my last post/response and yet, I keep searching for another discussion to respond!
There was a time when I didn't sleep at all just to mylotting. Whenever I have free time, I will switch on my computer and the first thing I do is to check my e-mail for the notifications from My Lot. I was so addicted to it that I rather sit in front of my computer for hours than to get enough sleep to care for my 10 months old baby. Well, it was bad and I learned my lesson for ignoring my baby *smile*
Now, I have a better control of myself. I only mylotting for maybe two to three hours a day and then stop! It worked though ...

Two hours *smile* I'm leaving after I get to the end of the responses posted here so far. Unless people keep replying while I'm posting. Then I'll just have to save some for later.

They will be there when you return. Real life is so much more important. It is good that you wish to be of quality however it does not seem to be appreciated here. I appreciate your efforts however I have no say in what you earn here. Go, live your life. Things should be here when you return.

Thank you. You're right. It's amazing how much time I sometimes let slip away when I'm online. I do try to keep it in check. Take care.

Lol...I can see where that could be a problem, but since I don't post a lot of discussions I find it very easy to log out of mylot when I want too...:}

I haven't been posting any, I've been responding. And I know what you mean. My goal was to get to 100 posts today, I was at 75 last night, and now I'm at 325. It's insane!
