I could not get rain in spring and early summer for anything and kept weeded pretty good. But, now my garden is infested with weeds after about three weeks of almost constant rain. I can't seem to get them out without destroying my plants. they have overgrown my pepper plants. Any suggestions on weeding without hurting plants?

Mine is like that too. We've taken to trimming the weeds. LOL You can pull them up by hand and very gently if you want to get them out from around your plants. That is probably the best way. I don't know if I'm even gonna do that. I've been so inundated with stuff from my small garden I'm about to scream. It's a huge task trying to get it all preserved or eaten fresh.

I wish you had posted a photo. It would be easier to point out things.
There is really no solution other than pulling the weeds. I own a landscaping company and everyone wants a maintenance free garden or flower bed but it is impossible. Even if your garden was a bed of concrete it will still have to be maintained. You have to pull the weeds as they grow. Just think of the nutrients the weeds have already robbed from your plants.
If you do not want to cause any of your plants stress then cut the weeds off at the base. This will be tedious and since you already let the weeds grow you probably will not keep up with it. No offense but I am going by the information that you have given. You never said that you will keep the weeds out.
You can consider weeds cancer. You don't let the cancer grow then treat it. You get rid of it as soon as it shows up.
I am sorry but there is no miracle cure. The weeds are around food plants so you can't use certain chemicals.
Even if it rains every day you have to maintain your garden or you will have weeds. Mulch will help after you get rid of the weeds.
Don't ever use plastic as a weed barrier. It will rob your plants of water and destroy your soil.

Oh yes mine is out of control, I just don't have time to look after mine, I would like to get rid of my lawn as this is where I lose interest in my garden, getting the lawn mower out so I just seem to let it all go, I think it is Mylots fault because I prefer to be on here so I think the least they could do is come around and mow my lawn, what do you reckon... :)
