according to internet studies the number of children born to unmarried parents is steadily rising. were your parents married when you were born? do you have children? were you married when they were born? i have to admit i am one of the statistics... i had my daughter two years before i married my husband :-)...

My parents were married for 8 years before they had me and my brother. They just celebrated 34 years together. I'm engaged to be married and have a child. My brother has a child as well, but he's not married either.

my parents were married before i was born. they celebrated their 1 year anniversary the month after i came into the world. i, however, am not married to my daughters father. she is 7 months old. we live together, and have been together for almost 3 years. we've talked about marriage, but it doesn't seem right for us right now.

My parents were married before I was born, also before my older brother was born. I have 2 girls, and I was married almost 3 years before my first child was born. I've also read articles that said that children of unwed parents is on the rise.

My parents were married for like 7 years, and they had me. As for us, we still arnt officially married and we have a 7 month old son. We do not really see the importance of being legally married. We have had our own ritual and that is what matters to us.

that's awesome!!! my husband and i waited for two years before we got married... i've always believed that a child does not equal marriage. we still had issues to work out before we decided to make our lives together official :-)

Mine were married, but divorced when I was 12. I was not married to my sons father nor was I married to my oldest daughters father. My husband and I have 2 children together and we got married before our frst together was born.

wow, i think that's pretty rude. while i do not pretend to be able to speak for all americans, I AM NOT insecure at all. i was not married when my daughter was born and i DO NOT care what anyone thinks about it. i don't think that parents have to be married to raise their children. i also don't think that everyone in india is completely secure in who they are so be careful what you say before you speak for a whole country.
