Kind Things....Challenge

I have been conducting my own personal experiment over the last month or so.
Have you ever just done a good deed? One for which you gain no reward? Help out or compliment a total stranger or maybe someone you don't know well but who you could with one moment of your time or kind words make their day?
It feels really good, a little soul high if you will. I want to do more. I want to encourage others to do some small thing or say some small thing that may just make someone else's day.
This months achievements:
Complimented a reclusive person about their appearence (I did know they had begun a gym membership). His eyes lit up.
Let the stranger behind me use my grocery discount card thing. She was so thankful.
Fed the parking meter of the car parked next to me.
Gave away extra vegetables from my garden.
The humanitarian in me hopes this post will be long and full of good deeds.
So, tell me. What have you done? What do you plan to do next week?

Thats a great deed!
I'll also try helping people like this. I have a helping nature and I try helping others as much as possible. I will also keep in mind from now onwards how to use chances to help others.
Thanks a lot for reminding of humanity. Thanks a lot!

Preeti, people should feel thankful to you for your good deeds. If you are good to others, your best to yourself, I believe.
Good deeds to give us a lot of happiness and we in some manner also get repaid or get reward for it.
If you feel like helping others, assisting others...I think..you must keep on doing these little favours...because nothing is greater than self-happiness and satisfaction.
Good Post!

This is an interesting post. It's so kind of you to do these things. They make life more meaningful. So this month, I've driven my coworkers home, have driven my new friend to DC twice to get her visa, have gone to the post office to make an appointment for my mom's boss, have went to Carmax to get a friend's car appraised, have sent a friend a card to encourage him. I wish I can list more, but I think that's enough. Doing things expecting no rewards is the most rewarding things ever and you'll be rewarded (unexpectedly too). God bless you my friend.

I understand what you mean. Just yesterday I went to the park to feed the so many fishes in the pond. I bought 4 big plastic bags filled with dried bread. I have long since wanted to feed the fish, and the bread I brought with me I did it myself by drying them under the hot sun.
However, on the day I went there, there were a group of kids aged around 10 watching me feed the bread. They looked at me as if saying, please give us the bread, we want to feed the fish too. At first I just ignore them because I don't want to give my bread to strangers. (What a selfish person I was, lol..) But after some time they didn't stop staring.
So, I invited them to sit with me and I told them to give away the bread to the fish. At first I thought the fun would be reduced because I was not the one who give the bread to the fish. Somehow, the feeling became very fun and I enjoyed every minute there.
Later I thought to myself, if I didn't share the bread with the kids, my experience would be much more duller.

This post clearly tells me that you would have got a great satisfaction from doing all the above helps and feeling much relaxed ever before.
Hope you keep on doing certain good things for good cause..We get a personal satisfaction when we render helping hands to the needy within our limits.
I have felt this satisfaction and happiness in me when i donate my old clothes to the orphange every quarter month, teaching some desersing poor students who thank me wholeheardly.

I think you are going to become the next Mother Teresa if you keep doing things the same way as mentioned. you are too kind a person.
I'm more than embarassed to share such kind of achievements, but i would still.
My achievements this week are;
1) Ate the food cooked by my sister with a smile and survived fortunately.
2) Dropped my neighbour aunty to the bus stop safely without any mishap.
3) Saw a woman sleeping on the train berth( which was not supposed to be a sleeper berth) but did not wake her up. I stood throughout my journey and let her sleep.
4) Did not beat the stray dog which jumped the compound of our house, entered the terrace, enjoyed nicely peeing everywhere. I caught him at last when everything was over, but thought there's no pointing in punishing him as he is dumb and orphan.
5) Did not quarrel with my Internet service provider though he deprived me of accessing internet for few days and also the Lan card he provided was not durable.
i know he is a nice person, he is very helpful and not money-minded.
6) Gave money to the old helpless beggar i met in the train. His condition was pathetic.
7) Fed a stray dog with some buns when he came wagging his tail while i was buying some snacks in the bakery.

A few weeks ago I went innertubing at a river. There was a girl whose sandals had fallen off in some rapids and they got swept downstream to where I was. So I gathered them both and brought them back to her.
I'm not very good at socializing with people so its not easy for me to do kind things for them often. But if I see an opportunity like the one I mentioned, I'll help them out.
