Well essentially dual core processors are for multitasking.....that is you can do more than one process at a time effectively..int his case 2 with out performace loss....

in other words... its way better a 1.5 dual core than a 3.0 simple ?

Well when we say dual core it is like saying dual processor meaning it is two times faster than a normal processor. I've seen a loptop the lates version that has a window vista OS, it has 2.66 Ghz and 2.66 Ghz processor.

I am not a computer expert but from what I know of them two, I think the dual does more than single core. You'll have to look them up for more information.

The performance of a dual core processor is far much better than a single core processor as there are two processors and it has double the speed of the single processor ... The next thing is that even if a processor fails then the other processor can be used to run the programs thus making it more reliable and though the speed would be low in those cases it is better than a system without a processor ... So people dual core processor to single core processors these days

Wow, alot of these people really don't know what they are talking about. A dual core processor does NOT double the speed of your computer. If you are running single threaded applications, a 2GHZ single core, will be about as fast as a 2GHz dual core. The benefits are more noticeable when multitasking. Comparing a 1.5GHz dual core to a 3GHz single core, is like driving people home with 2 cars going 15Mph versus 1 car driving 30MPh. The car going 30 is faster, but the there are 2 cars going 15 so they can move twice as many people, which may get the job done faster depending on how many people you are moving.

Logically talking, its like having two brains that work with one another. It could do more things at a shorter period of time. It really makes your computer more efficient. That means you could run a command n conquer 3 game and your msn messenger simultanously and not having lags on your computer.
