I am currently in Arizona with my fiance. I live in Ontario Canada, and he lives and works down here in the USA. I love it dwn here, but I really miss a few things about my hometown. One thing I especially miss is my favourite cafe, The Second Cup. I wish they'd open some in the USA.

There is a really nice cafe down here too, a local place that I know I am going to miss when I go home. I guess that means I have two homes. ;-)
What do you miss most about your home when you travel?

I see you're relatively new to MyLot. Welcome! As for the weather, you sound just like my fiance. I am used to the weather in Canada. It's not that cold, but in the summer it is between 60 and 90. I'm used to that. I can hardly stay on my feet down here, it's so hot!!

Thank you, Vlad. I love it down here, and I love you too. You're worth missing The Second Cup, for....although there are still days when I'd love to march in there, buy a big bag of coffee beans and eat them right out of the bag. ;-)

Pets are the best aren't they? Always happy to see you. At the end of a long hard day my dogs can make me so happy just by being thrilled that I walked in the door.

When I do travel, it isnt very often I miss going out to the store or cafe or whatever and knowing the people there or knowing the people coming in the door. I live in a very small town where everybody pretty much knows everybody and if you are from out of town we know it LOL. And the absolute biggest thing of all that I miss is my bed, with my blankets and all my pillows cause when you travel you really dont take all 6 pillos with you LOL just usually one or 2.

My cat!! Seriously. I hate leaving her, and she doesn't like being alone either. She'll put out her hair if I don't have someone come visit her. What I miss most second is running around naked. I swear its such a hassle to get all dressed up just to run to the kitchen and get a drink of water. So I guess I just miss being home. My cat, being naked, all things at home. I try not to travel very often.

I had to leave my cat behind too. I miss him terribly. I left him with a friend whom I can trust, so he is in good hands, but I do miss him. Mysti and Mylo (cats here!) are keeping me entertained though.

I miss everything about my home. I don't like going away, especially sleeping in other people's homes. I guess what I miss most is my bed, and my routine. I would probably miss my writing group a lot. I already miss them having cut back our meeting times from every week to every two weeks for the summer. They are my friends and my motivation. I would really miss being away from them.

When I travel I will miss one sea food restaurant called "Mengkan". It is our favorite restaurant. We often eat out there for dinner. I like their spaghetti noodles, fried rice, chicken and beef stew, and mixed vegetables. I often order their special ice blended delicacy. It is very nice to eat during humid nights.

I have two homes as well. Living in Scotland has me always missing things from back home. If it is just food items I usually get one of my friends to send me a goody box. I sure do miss the food. It can get strang living in a foreign country.
I miss the Red Dog Saloon and the Cookhouse in Juneau. The burgers in the Cookhouse are as big as a dinner plate. They sure know how to make a burger! You don't need dinner after eating a lunch like that.

I only live about 350 miles from home, but I am from Buffalo. I miss Ted's hot dogs. If you have been to Buffalo, you must have had one or a chicken wing from the Anchor Bar or a really good pizza. Or Roast Beef on Kummelweck rolls.
Are you in Scottsdale, if so would you go to the Ted's down there, have a foot long, no pickles, and some curly fries for me?
Why is it always food we miss...I guess now with phones we can call anytime and talk to family..but the foods....mmmm...miss them.

When I am away from home I miss my bed and my bathroom. I just don't ever feel comfortable sleeping in a bed that is not mine. I also don't like using a bathroom that is not mine. I rarely sleep well when I'm away from home.

Tru calling. It didn't officially end; the series was cancelled so I guess I'm just hoping for closure.

I just recently moved to a new state, so I miss my old home a lot. Mostly, I miss my friends, and being part of their lives and watching their children grow up.
When I travel from my new home, I usually miss my husband and my dogs the most. And my bed. It takes me about 2 days to start getting homesick, and then around day 5 I am miserable and just want to be back with my pets. I didn't used to get that bad, but to be honest, after moving away from all of my friends, I think I am homesick a little every day. OH and the restaurants at my old home were just the BEST! There are no restaurants that even compare out here!

hi danishcanadian! I was able to experience this one - I had been away from home for almost 11 months because I went to a review school. I really missed the not-polluted air in our home, and the special marinated chicken in our town (Our city is known for making the best chicken in the country!) And I really missed it. Of course, I also missed home because there's no traffic and we don't encounter "flood" when there's storms. *hehehe* The big city is quite not that really good. LOL (Except for the tall buildings and wide malls.) LOL :p
Take care and God bless! \(",)_
