Why did you decide to study this? What is it all about? What do you like the best? Would you recommend it to others
I study geology. I decided for that study by accident. I was not excepted by my first wish (i was sure i would be so i randomly chose my second wish ) graphical interactive communications. So I had a choice wait for one year or go study geology... I chose geology and am not sorry for that.. i do not see myself nowhere else...
It has a wide range of subjects (maths, physics, chemistry, geometry in space, crystallography, mineralogy, geology, petrology, paleontology and about 20 other subjects)... you learn everything from the creation of universe, planets, fossils, minerals, earthquakes, dinosaurs)
I like the dynamics of study, we have a lot of field practice, laboratory exercises, classes are interactive.
I would recommend this college to others, it needs hard work, but i think it is worth it

I am now learning English and photoshop myself.I study English because I like it very much.I admire people who can speak fluent English. There are so many tourests from different countries coming to my city every year.I wanna communicate with people from all over the world about everything we are interested in.I learn photoshop because I think it's interesting. I find it a little bit hard for me,but I will never give up.

I agree with you... It is wise to learn to speak English... it also is not my native language but we learned it at school... i speak it fluently but haven't used it in written for 3 years so i have some difficulties from time to time.
Yes parents can be nasty with education issue... I was lucky my parents were both forced to study what their parents told them to, so they did not want to make the same mistake with me(they only gave me a few guidelines).

Hello alnilam!
I am a mechanical engineer by profession. I must admit that originally, after doing my 12th grade, I wanted to study modern physics as it was of great interest to me. My parents, however, wanted me to go for engineering as the other field was not much welcomed professionally in my country of origin. I respected their wish and chose to follow my career in engineering and I am really glad that I did that.
Mechanical engineering, like any other field, is a very interesting. First of all "Engineering" itself derives it's name from mechanical field because the dictionary definition of engineer is a person who can design or operate or keep an engine:-) that's why it is called mother of all engineering.
There is a wide variety of subjects offered in it. Mechanical and machine Design, Manufacturing techniques, Hydraulics, Production processes, Thermodynamics, Materials, Power plants, Vibrations, Drawing and drafting, Air conditioning, statics and dynamics, Applied physics, Mathematics, composites, computer programming languages, just to name a few. Subjects of most interest to me are the ones that deals with Mathematical modeling.
I am doing doctorate now in the same engineering discipline in the field of composites. My work is basically on numerical modeling of mechanical behavior of a particular composite structure used in Aerospace industry, Racing boats, Transportation for it's high specific strength. I wish you best of luck in your field of study:-)

I studied secretarial when I attended college. I learned typing, shorthand, trengkas and translation. I love my college years and I wish i could go back to those days. I made a decision to study this because my husband saw it in the newspaper and told me to enter. But later it turned out that I really liked the course and I excelled in it too! I got a CGPA of 3.56 out of 4.00, which was great.

Well my degree from University was in English Literature, and I then spent a year studying Journalism, in a course that included Sociology and Economics. Later I decided to "retrain" and went back to College to get a qualification in Social Work. To be honest, as a cild I wanted to be a Vet, but my talents were in English and languages - I was not so good at sciences, so I knew that I would never be able to be a Vet because of the chemistry and biology involved. I definately enjoyed my time at College - to me, education is never wasted.

In the fall I will be going to college for elementary education. I have been having second thoughts though, because I would rather go for early childhood education. Although that doesn't pay as much as an elementary teacher would, I could still spend time with my children if I worked in a daycare and was able to take them with me.

I study journalism. I used to take up BS Commerce when I first entered college. But writing has always been my passion, I really planned on taking Comparative Literature or Journalism in college. So with much begging to my parents, I was finally allowed to study Journalism. But my love for literature is still there and I plan to take a Master's Degree in Comparative Literature after college. (Thy will not mine be done.) :-)

When I was in college, I first took up accounting. Since I liked math and was good at in high school, I figured this would be my career. After two years, I had enough of accounting and math so I finished my studies with Business Administration. I have an associates in Accounting and a Bachelors Degree in Business Admin. If I could go back and change it, I would have done something in computers.

Hello! I am learning web designing, then I am going to do diploma in graphic designing & animation. Actually I wanted to study human psychology or do CA, but my dad forced me to take science in +2. So, I studied science & that time I thought I would become a dentist or would study biotechnology. But due to some health problems, I didn't able to study well as I had to study all tough subjects as I opten physics, chemistry, maths, & biology in my +2 which I was not at all interested in. Then, I joined a social networking site where I built my homepage myself & everybody who visited it, praised it. I kept experimenting & designing new pages, then I understood I am so much interested in it & its a good thing to learn as careerwise too. You can visit: http://www.zorpia.com/indiavani to checkout the latest homepage designed by me there. Now am building my own websites which am going to launch next week. I am enjoying my decision although my parents aren't much happy with it. But with time, they have begun to understand. So, I hope they'll be happy to see my own websites. Anyways, it was nice responding to your discussion...vani^_^

I study Technology and Industrial Arts Management. It's an interesting degree because you learn woodworking, metal working, electrical, power technology, drafting and graphic arts. We also take business and economics courses. A lot of the focus is on designing objects for mass production. I love my degree because I get to do so many things and I'm in a lab building things or working on engines instead of listening to lectures. In one class we designed an object, mass produced it, and marketed and sold it in local craft stores. The downsides are that there are so many fields I could go into after I graduate, I don't know what I want to do. And it requires as many lab hours as science classes.

That sounds so interesting man. I was planning to go into Engineering, well mostly Chemical Engineering and I just couldn't handle the pressure so I switched from there and moved onto Environmental and Business program and it's a co-op program in university so one semester is study and other is work so you can also get some hands on experience so I like that. I decided to study this because it seemed interesting to me and I like the environment (sort of) lol

My boyfriend also studied Chemical Engineering for a year and had the same problem---could not handle it and switched to another college...
It really doesn't matter if you switch the program ---the only thing important is that you are satisfied with the new one
