I am currently learning about building computers. I am really enjoying experimenting with older machines (not that old!) that people don't use anymore. I've got four or five that I am working on. It is great for building confidence and of couse if something goes wrong then you haven't damaged an expensive component. I've found that physically putting the hardware together is actually really easy on the whole, it's getting all the bits to talk to each other that can be more tricky.

I am very impressed with your talent! I wish I knew how to do this, but I am not technologically minded, do you use your talents to earn money? My friend used to put computers together and he actually made one for me! It worked for years and it was the best computer I had. I marvelled at the way he could do it. So well done for being able to do it. Did you teach yourself to do it, or did you learn at college, thank you.

Thank you. I don't do it to make money but just to help my friends.
I learned it all by myself as I am very much interested in electronics. I learned on trial and error basis. My friends say that I can make the best PC.
If you are really interested in something, then nothing can stop you from being an expert in it.
Bye.

Yes Assembly of a PC is easy and I have done this for myself several times when it was cheeper to buy the parts yourself and put them together. Nowdays it is cheeper to have the system built 4 you and with the OS included it is way cheeper than building the system yourself.

I honestly have no idea; however, I did have a friend in high school who did. He would make desktop computers and sell them to others in our area.

We assemble our desktop computers as well. In the end we have what we want in each one and spend less money.
Whenever we upgrade we do it in a chain. Whatever new stuff goes for me or hubby, what we take from that we put on my daughter's computer and from her to my son.
After that we just keep spare pieces until we can assemble another one LOL

I've never tried to assemble a full computer. However, I've replaced hard drives and DVD/CD drives. I've also formatted hard drives and done a fair bit of software work. Lack of money has forced me to do that.

I've never done it, but with good enough instructions, I think I could. I've installed cd writers and changed sound cards and things like that, so I think I could do it. I realize it would be a lot more complicated than those tasks, but still I think I could.
