Can ANYbody tell me how to fingerpick??

Street spirit by radiohead is a good one to start with. Three chords over a fairly simple picking pattern. There is a piece off Pink Floyd's The Wall which is also good, again relatively simple chords so you can concentrate on your picking hand.

Here is how I help prepare new students for learning fingerpicking. I call it the "EADGBe Drill". Do this drill for at least 2 minutes everyday. Thumb: EAD Pointer Finger: G Middle Finger: B Ring Finger: e Play them all open. Go from E to e then back to E, but always using the right fingers. What this does is gets your fingers used to working independently of each other, and helps you learn string control. After a couple of weeks of that, pick any tab for any song you like and your fingers will do the rest. Let me know how you do with it! Have Fun with that guitar!

I do not think that I am very familiar with that phrase at all. I don't think that I have heard of anyone that uses that phrase at all.
