how can you go on with your lover?

When you beat the other ,how can you live with your lover?What's is the best way to slove it?

I have seen this situation over and over again. When a person is an alcooholic, and has violent tendencies (NOT all do), then the best way to solve the situation is to just leave. I know the people I have seen go through these things are much happier now that they have left.
