Yes, it can be applied with your mouth closed but it takes a lot of concentration. If you pay attention, most people that apply mascara to someone else also open their mouths. Crazy, uh?

I use eyeliner more than mascara, but same concept. I read that it's a natural reaction in order to make the skin/muscles taut around the eyes. Amazing how our bodies knew that this would help, isn't it? Once it was brought to my attention, I realized how stupid it looked. So I now intentionally keep my mouth closed. It does take some amount of concentration to do it, however, so if I'm in a rush, my mouth is hanging open & I just don't care! Aloha!

I must be an odd one cuz I always apply my mascara with my mouth closed. I've never felt the need to open my mouth when applying mascara. Yes, I'm a weird one, folks! Even a certain friend of mine says I'm freaky. :P

LOL Well, he doesn't say I'm freaky because I can apply mascara with my mouth closed. He says I'm freaky cuz of... other stuff! Like this dream I had about him in a wheel chair and then later that day, finding out he was playing in a wheel chair at work. Freaky!

I think it IS possible to apply mascara with mouth shut. but normally while applying mascara to my lashes my mouth remains open.

Hahahahah. It's hard, but it can be done, as I have done it with my mouth closed. It's an effort though. :)

I have actually just noticed that I put mascara on with my mouth open very recently. Since I noticed, it has been driving me nuts. I have attempted to do it without opening my mouth, but then i catch myself doing it! I don't know if it is possible!

LOL! i guess opening our mouth applying the mascara should be a natural thing to do for our face muscles.

YEs, it's true it cannot be done. Just like when you are feeding your baby baby food, your mouth opens automatically as well, its liek you are trying to show him/her what to do. WIerd..
