Do you ever do this?

Sometimes when I am going through the replies to my discussions and rating them I accidentally click on the "-" when I meant to click the "+". I don't know how this happens! It has only happened about 3 times now, but I feel bad about it lol because my hand slipped... Does this ever happen to you?

Yeah, I do it every now and then--I've even accidently put pluses next to posts I've hated.
In the cases of unearned negatives I go back and find other comments by them and give them a plus, to kind of balance it out. In the case of unearned pluses I just blow some steam and let it go.

thats awful..i haven't done anything like it yet..i am very careful not to..just like a friend had accidentally press the best response for the person who doesn't deserve it..you must be careful next time

I try to be careful, but sometimes it happens. It is not that awful, as it won't really affect the ratings that much.

Yes, I have done this a few times, even pressed the report spam one before, on accident, and as of lately I have been using my new computer and it is like the screen jumps up and down on me so it is even harder to make sure I don't press the "-" button than ever.

Gosh, I hope I don't need a new computer, this is a brand new laptop that is only 2 weeks old, I am just thinking it is the new Windows Vista program that is doing it.

Hi Texas,
You say your screen is jumping around lately? Perhaps you need a new monitor. I have a tube for my desktop PC, but I'd love to get an LCD for it, like my laptop has. :P

Yes it has happened to me once. I feel bad about it, especially if the response was so good that she or he did not deserve a minus, but after going through all of the responses, and reading them, it seems unavoidable - although there are some here who are so perfect that they never make a mistake and will tell me so.
I wish there were a way to reverse it. I asked about it, but apparently myLot has not put a "are you sure?" box like Microsoft does when you want to delete something.

Having an "are you sure?" box sounds like it would be pretty good, but at the same time make it more time consuming to rate all the responses.

Yes, it has happened to me. I felt really bad. I went to that person's profile and just rated three random discussions with a positive hoping it would offset my negative. I don't know if it works that way but I tried.

Um—no… : ) OOOpppsssss—that stinks- but mistakes happen- it’s too bad you can’t take them back- and I don’t think it effects the persons earnings- so really it doesn’t matter right? I think it has something to do with our stars? You think.

That makes me feel insecured to post replies to your thread.lol. I never rate to any replies unless if its the most sensible answer. But i'd rather select it as a best response.
I might had botched many times by replying to posts which may be the reason why my rating is dropping each day.First i had 10 stars with a reputation of 98/100.But lately its dropped to 90/100 although i am not being demoralized.Because i still could earn.
This i am saying is because members get discouraged when somebody unconsciously rate them negative even though their post might be very sensible.I feel we should not rate someone (-) unless he/she is abusive.

Yes I have done it a few times, I must appologytically admit. It was really due to the slip of the hand. If we commit some typo error we can later correct it, surely before submitting, but an accidental bad grading cannot be corrected. As if an arrow launched from a bow. Every time I commit this mistake I feel sorry and even guilty. However, now I use to take much care in this aspect.
Thank you.

The little + and - signs are very close together so yeah, it happens to the best of us! Believe me I know how you feel. I feel so bad when I accidentally do something like that. It is almost like a shock to the system when you realize what you have done!

I don't think I've had this happen yet. It could at any time, I'm sure, but I usually don't miss with the mouse I have. It's buttons are really light and easy to press. So, do you have an optical mouse, or a scroller mouse? Or, do you have a laser mouse? :)

I have learnt to rate "+" to all of my responses from a friend who started a discussion--I will rate + to all who respond to my discussions. I think that he is right and I am now following him because I think that it takes their time to respond to my discussions and I rate them + as a way to show my thanks to them whatever kind of responses they are. I never rate - to any discussions, though I know that you didn't mean to do so and it was only accidental.

I tend to do the opposite, I rate a + when I would have originally done - or even !. You have to do ! before you do the other to do both, but I rate so many + that I tend to do that first, rather than the other. Lots of people get + from me, and very few get -.

I'm not aware of doing this, (probably do it 3 times in a row now), I use the rating sign to show that I've already been on the site (& usually responded as well), so it saves me looking through all the replies to see if I've replied already, especially if there is several pages to go through. Most of us say that the ratings don't really mean much (but of course its does, especially when you reach the coveted 10 spot).
I don't think one individual - will lower anyones ratings, it should take quite a lot.

I have done it a couple times by accident. I too felt bad about doing it, but there isn't anything we can do about it after it has been done. So I get over it fairly quickly.

Yes I have accidently done that. I hate that the negative is so close to the positive. I then have had to send messages to my friends to let them know how sorry I am for doing such a stupid mistake.

Well, I can't say that I have ever done this before. I always mark them all with a "+". Sometimes, I will miss marking them at all, but never accidentally mark a "-" when I meant to do it as a "+".
