what would you list are the characteristics of a wise person?

When I was young I was told to become wise all you had to do was "listen and get educated".

Frugality, able to weigh up every situation and know instantly which way to go. Being able to assess things and make the right decision based on fact. Being intellectual and making good choice. Someone who is practical as well as on the ball. Someone who knows what they want from life and won't waste time procrastinating and wishing for things they can't have. They are good listeners as well as good communicators and always come up with an answer that is sound.
