Would you have another baby shower if you were pregnant again and had one already for your first? Who would you invite?

I had a shower with my second but I had a boy then a girl. Only our parents and a few friends were invited. Everyone seemed to have a good time. I think if it isn't really about the presents then have a party. People nomrally bring stuff anyway but I love a baby shower, no matter if it is someones 1st baby or 5th baby I would go. Every baby should have their own special party.

My friend who has 3 and is now pregnant with her fourth had a babyshower for everyone. So much changes and there is always something new coming out so I say have one also. I went to all of hers so why not.

having a second shower seems to still be taboo. my first was a girl, so when my second was a girl too i didn't think about having another shower because i still had everything. but now this one i'm having anyday now, is a boy and i had thought about a second shower, but my mom didn't think it was right. i thought about having a get together, but i wasn't sure who to invite because i didn't know how many would think it was wrong that i was having another shower. i got lucky though, i still had most my stuff, and my sister just had a boy 6 months ago so she gave me all her clothes.

Congratulations and thanks for commenting. Maybe you can throw yourself a welcome baby party. Even though you have hand me downs its always nice to have something new for your new bundle of joy. People would probably bring things for your new little one. I would wait until after he was born and everyone can also meet him.

We had more of a "welcome baby" get together than a shower with my son, and we will probably do the same thing with my next one. I live 1100 miles from home, so my family couldn't really throw me a shower while I was pregnant. We went home for the first time when my son was 4 months old, so my dad barbequed and invited everyone on my mom's side of the family and a few of my close friends. They brought presents and we played games. And they got to see my son. Since it wasn't a baby shower, all my uncles and male cousins and everyone was invited, too. It was a lot of fun. We had a similar party where my dad is from so that his family could all meet my son.

I think it was my sisters 4th baby and I had a shower for her. It was her second. I made it more about having a bet together than about gifts. I asked that as a gift option everyone could bring their fav childrens book as a gift. People loved the idea and she got alot more than books.

I think it's about the baby and each baby should be celebrated. I had a baby shower with both of my girls. The first was thrown by my friends at school (I was still in high school) and the second was thrown by my sisters-in-law. I think if someone wants to throw you another, go for it! People don't have to go- don't have to bring presents- if they don't want to. I do think throwing a second one for yourself would be tacky, though.

Typically it is a friend or relative that gives the baby shower. I've never heard of throwing your own shower. Also the shower is given for the first child but seems to be not the norm for the next child being born. That is kind of sad, actually. All children should be celebrated and showered with gifts!

I just went to someones shower who has had 2 before that. Has 3 other kids that are girls so this will be her 4th girl and her youngest one is only 2. She didn't know about this shower but I would kill people for giving it to me b/c I wouldn't want people to think I was greedy.

Well around here normally a friend or a family holds the shower. I did have one for my second child but it was my husbands first child in 18 yrs and his friends wife held it for me.

to add I have held a shower for a friend of mine for her 2nd child, but it was more a excuse to have a get together for just the girls. In fact we didn't even invite the baby.
