What kind of dress would you buy for your daughter's baptism? A long or short? silk or cotton? alot of lace or just plain? And how much would you be willing to spend on it? The picture is the one I'm thinking about getting for my daughters baptism. What do you think?

My mom made a baptismal gown for my nephew, out of part of my sister's wedding dress. I thought that was a wonderful way of reusing the wedding dress and it makes a nice heirloom for the family as well. If you don't know anyone who is able to do that, you might be able to find a seamstress near you who can make a baptismal dress for your daughter.

It is beautiful! My daughters Godmother bought hers, long and lacy and frilly. It has a dress w/ slip and an over coat. I recently passed it down to my daughters daughter. What ever one you buy, you know it will be a family heirloom, so you buy the one you love! What ever it cost.

It is a beautiful dress, in our family it is the custome for the godmother to purchase the dress. I bought my niece a lacy and frilly dress with a little matching hat, it was very lovely and of course she was absolutely beautiful, lol.
I spen around 125.00 for the dress and hat, but paid another 20.00 on shoes.

What a beautiful dress! I'd spend no more than $175 for a baptism dress. I like the longer ones and I think silk and lace are always nice.
