I have been writing for free all this time. I have an article on Gather, and on The Hub, but have not received any monies from them. I donated an article to a magazine of my Church. I am writing a novel and when I am finished, I will get an agent who will help me get it published, for pay. The only place that offered to pay me so far is myLot. The only stories I do write for free is my fan fiction. The rest, when they get finished, will be for publication and I expect to get paid. And does not mean that writing is no longer my passion. Do you suppose Bobby Fray who loves to cook, told the Food Network, "Don't bother paying me, I love cooking so much." No way.

It depends what I'm supposed to write. If it's an article or something for a magazine, then I don't think I would do it for free if the subject wasn't one that I care for a lot. If I could write anything I wanted and just get published without getting paid, then yeah!
And of course I write all my own little stories completly for free. :D
