I'm thinking about starting to make candles to sell for some extra money but no clue where to even begin. How do you make candles? What is it that gives off the most scent when being burned? I know there is something that a girl I use to buy candles from does to not make the candle have so much black smoke either. Any ideas would be very helpful and thank you for helping me out with this.

I tried making candles at home. It was messy, expensive, and time consuming. If you don't know a lot about scenting and wax you will go through a lot of errors. Instead, I found a company that makes triple scented, all natural, hand poured candles that are superior to any I ever used. Best of all, I became a distributor. I can buy them and make 50% profit on any I sell. If your are interested, visit me at www.mycandlefarm.com for detailed information.

I would probably suggest browsing a few websites for how to's as I know there are lots of different ways to make candles and lots of different ingredients you can use to make them.
I went through a phase of candle making a while ago and one of the main things you needed was a double burner, this is so you can have the water and the wax in the same pan but yet separated (almost like a steamer for vegetables). A thermometer is also quite essential as is wick, parafin wax and moulds.
The rest of the equipment you need are all experimental and a lot of it doesn't have to cost a lot. Take a look round your craft shop to see what they have available and use your imagination.
Good luck.
