i like what you posted. what makes people old is not the age but how they deal with life. your parents must always be counting their blessings, not their woes --- this, i believe, is the secret to staying young.

I turned 30 a little over 4 years ago. I was bummed about not being in my twenties anymore but, I got over it quickly and realized that 30 isn't old at all. I feel like I have more wisdom now that I'm older

Thanks for that. I think I am just freakin' out because I already have four kids, and don't get me wrong life is good, but I am just now realizing that I am only 20 years older than my eldest child. It just makes me feel older than I am I guess

Oh, you should feel great about the 20 year age difference. I have only a 5yr old and I'm 34!!! I sometimes wish I would have had my child when I was younger because sometimes I do feel like I can't keep up with him

I guess you are right. That is the one thing I am glad of, that I am still able to keep up with them. I have older parents and sometimes it was hard for them with just two.

I know exactly how you feel! I turned 30 last year. For me, it wasn't so much turning 30 as it was disappointment that I wasn't where I wanted to be at that point. I realized I needed to start living life better than I had been. I needed to enjoy my son more, and work harder at the things I enjoy, and push more to get where I wanted. I'm getting there slowly and in the meantime, I'm a really happy person because I'm stopping to smell the roses along the way. ;)

hey, calm down. there's nothing wrong with being 30. as the saying goes, age doesn't matter --- it's beauty that really counts. and besides, doesn't life begin at 40? don't be sad. celebrate! happy birthday, devilheart75.

30 years ago one read all sort of articles on how turning affected women. It was in all the magazines .It was a traumatic time. Mid life crisis if you will. So when I turned 30 I kept waiting for all these things to get to me. After about a month I realized nothing had really changed. The sun still came up the same and the kids still bugged me. When I was 30, 60 was old and now that I’m 62 90 is the old age. I can’t do what I used to but I still feel the same, When you get close 40 I recommend you read “Forty Reasons Why Life is More Fun After the Big 40” by Liz Curtis Higgs
