If you could have any type of...

As a four year old, I was certain Santa would bring me an elephant, I am not sure why. It must have been a desire born at the Oklahoma City Zoo. I can remember my sister talking seriously about it to me. She was nine years older, she knew that there was no such person as Santa Claus, but instead she explained the difficulties involved. I know I did not get one for Christmas. This story takes place in the "olden days" when grocery stores and gas stations gave green stamps for purchases. When presents were not as lavish but meant something for what they represented in sacrifice and planning. My mom saved her green stamps, pasted them in her books, and got me a stuffed toy that was an elephant for my birthday. He was peach and green. I know how determined I had been to have a real elephant, but this one satisfied whatever that need was, so I guess that I was happy caring for my elephant.

Oh man! This question is TOUGH for me because I love SO many animals and there are so many species I would just love to own! But if I HAD to choose just ONE kind of animal to own it would have to be....an elephant! I think it would be really funny to ride them, and have them as a pet. Because really, they are just lovable, gentle animals and can be very playful, especially if they are domesticated! Just as an FYI my second choice would be a tiger.

I'd pick an ape. It could definitely defend me if I were in trouble, and they always look introspective. It would be nice to sit and stare at each other, LOL. And if you ever need a hug, hey, an ape is your man!

Since this is truly hypothetical and taking care of the animal (feeding housing etc. would not be a problem) I would have some coelacanth (living fossil fish) so that I might be able to breed them to make sure that they did not become extinct. I would also have some other rare animals so that I could ensure their existence on the world.

i want an ant-eater. an attack ant eater to protect my home.

I would have a horse , I just love horses , My dream is to sit on a horse and just let it walk abit with me sitting up there so high and being able to see everything from a different place , I hope to do this before too long as I am not getting any younger lol , My only worry is that I have to become allergic to dogs and I worry it might be the same for horses , my son went to the safari park last week ans when I handled his top to put in the wash I went mad with the hairs , I will just take an antihistamine before I get on lol xxx

I would want a domesticated tiger. Small house cats have been fine for me so far but I want a big kitty!

I think I would go with a tiger although I like polar bears too.

Oh I would like a gorilla! I love those animals they are just too darn neat to me. So it would have to be that, then I could send it out to take care of some of these salesmen that want to knock on my door every darn day to sell me their frozen steaks, LOL.

We have a real ant problem in our community and our lawns are constantly riddled with ant hills. Thereffore I would opt to have an aardvark who could eat all the ants saving me a small fortune in ant colony poison pellets.

I like that idea because I do like bears. I think that if I could have a pet it would be a tiger. They are very smart animals. I think a nice studded colar would fit a tiger. They are also very playful. You do need to be carefull of their teeth. I would probably have to get an extra job to pay for the big guys food. It is a shame that these lovely animals are so mean. I think if they were shown love and compation they might not be so mean. I simply love all animals. I would not mind living on a game preserve.

Hi wooitsmolly, hope all is well. If I could have any type of pet that I wanted I would probably go for a dolphin! I would teach it some cool tricks and have a blast swimming with it I'm sure.

hmmm...I really really want to have a panda bear! They're so adorable. It'll be cool to hug them at night when I sleep...they look so cuddly! ^__^

It would be a lion with a mane. I have always wished to hug a big kitty that was so fluffy around its neck like that. Normally they will eat a person so it is good that we are in our heads about this. The grizzly would need to be able to talk so that he could say whether he wished to wear a hat. We want our creatures happy.

There would be a few as I have a few pets now. I would choose a dolphin for my back garden and of course I'd have a lake in my back garden with penguins. I would have indoors a big grizzly bear and a polar bear. I might also have a few owls. At the moment, I have fish, rats and they've just had babies and I also have a kitten.

There's only one animal that I would like to domesticate and that's a cat. If any stupid moggie comes near me than it's mine, and I will try and tame it to fetch my bones for me, keep out of the way at dinner time and turn it into a rug in the evening so that it is nice and soft when I am lying in front of the fire. If I'm itchy then it can gently scratch my back for me and keep my fur tidy. If I feel like some exercise then I can use it as a ball to fling about.

I would have to choose a Blak Panther..With those green eyes and jet black coat....Big teeth...

a cobra or a lion. with the crime in my country i would have a quitd a few. they poison our dogs every year over the holidays.

I would want a stingray. I got to pet one in an aquarium years ago, and they are the most amazing animals I've ever encountered. :3 Apart from that... I love ducks. A duck or two would be cool to have as a pet. Too bad I live in an apartment, or that could be possible.
