Tough question. I like them both. But a beach is only sand and water. Mountains offer so much more I think. Then again there is nothing like the soothing sound of waves crashing on the shore. That is especially true here in the Great Lakes area where the waves are calmer than the ocean and have a delicate and rythmatic sound. But the Rocky Mountains are hard to beat. Now I am torn into little pieces trying to pick a favorite...lol.

I have never been to a real beach though I have been to the sea once, which is brown. As I am used to seeing mountains, I think that I would like to visit the beach some day in my life. It must be lots of fun there to see so many people there enjoying themselves by swimming and such.

I prefer going to the beach. My family and I often take a walk by the sea. We like watching the great and profound water. But I often like mountains.

my preference for spending my holidays all depends on the time of the year that i plan to spend my holidays.
If it is summer time, then I always head towards the mountains because the climate is cool and pleasant there and I can have a comfortable holiday, without the sweating.
If it is any other season than summer i.e. during winter or monsoon, my first choice then becomes the beach.

I prefer to visit the beach because it is easier to get there in a car. I think beach is also a most romantic place. I like to walk along the beach with my loved one in the late evening. Walking hands in hands and listen to the beautiful sound of the restless waves.

wow thats a really hard choice. i love the view from atop a mountain...but I also love the view of the ocean. I think I would have to pick beach. there is nothing like watching the sunset while on the beach.

I live near the beach so we go pretty frequently. I have only been to the mountains a handful of times my entire life. I would love to go hiking though.

I grew up in the 'mountains' and I love it there. But beach and mountains? I'd go for the beach because I'm already very familiar with mountains.

I am not a big fan of sand and sun. I burn very easy and then I break out. The sun and I are not real good friends. I also have asthma and heat is not good for me. I breath much better in a cool climate.
I love the mountains. It seems to always be cooler in the mountains than any where else. I love watching the sun go down behind the mountain. It is so pretty. I spent my vacations in the rocky mountains. There is nothing like sitting on the porch in the early evening on rocking chairs watching the trees movinging the breeze. I also like the fact that I can see wildlife running free while I am just sitting there. I have had the pleasure of opening my window blinds to find a deer drinking at the small creek that was located out my back door. Yes the mountains are for me. I hope one day to be able to get a cabin of my own.

I love both. My ideal place is a beach surrounded by mountains besides the ocean or a strait. There has to some hiking trails with plenty of sights to see and they have to build steps into the trails because although I can see myself climbing up, going down would be a problem as would be looking down.
