Have you ever silently wished misfortune on someone? I will confess, I have! Just yesterday hubby and I were driving a very narrow, winding, two-lane road that leads to the college at which my son has been housed the last 5 weeks. A car rode our bumper for miles and finally passed us going at least 70 miles an hour in a 35 zone. I could just see an accident in my mind where the lunatic driver lost control and killed some college kids by hitting them head on. I silently wished that a few miles up the road we'd see the driver pulled over by the police, being given a ticket and perhaps losing his license for a bit. What about you? Have you wished misfortune on anyone?

Oh yes, it's wrong, but yes I have. One time I can remember is hoping an ex caught something that caused his "pride" to dry up and fall off, LOL. I think it's just human to do this, sometimes picturing these things in our heads, helps us feel better. At least for me anyways.

In that sense, yes, I have hoped that people who flagrantly break the law and put others in danger get caught. It is much more desirable than for them to cause a bad accident like you envisioned. That is probably a better wish than you realized at the time. You live after speeding tickets, you do not always live after a serious accident.

Although it goes against my grain doing that, I'll have to admit I've thought it once or twice in my life. But, it always made me feel bad to even have a thought like that, because I'm just not a revengeful person. I believe in Karma, and what goes around comes around. Perfect example of karma & goes around: my ex hubby was controlling, & angry all the time (plus a lot of other stuff); the woman who he married next is the exact same to him as he was to me, except now he has the role I used to have and gets to see & know firsthand how that behaviour feels. Talk about your karmic justice...in my wildest dreams I could not have wished a revengeful thought that compared to what he's actually got now.

A LOT, and I can't stress this enough.
A...LOT.
I have so many people who made my life a living hell, be it school bullies, to high-and-mighty authorities online who hate me, i've had LOTS of enemies, people who would trivialize any pain i'm suffering, making it seem like it's nothing and telling me to "get over it", and other stuckups who think they're better than me. I also have family members who scrape away at my health and well-being.
Oh yes, I have silently wished misfortune on someone, and I don't have any regrets.

I have. Several times I think. But only to those people who are extremely rude and just like in your story, people who are reckless drivers. I remember that I had wished misfortune on someone in an extreme way. I was really so mad at this person who was our landlord. He didn't maintain his apartment building and when rainy season comes, the first floor to get flooded is our floor, the 5th floor! Can you imagine that? You live on the 5th and top floor but you're the first one to be victimized by large puddles of rain.I had complained this to the landlord but he just kept promising that he'll fix the problem. But no actions have been done. So, my husband and I decided to move down to the 3rd floor. We got tired of waiting for the landlord to fix the problem but months have passed and nothing was still done. When we got to our new apartment, we were expecting to have a discount on the rent. As we have been forced to move from our former apartment. But to my surprise, the landlord didn't give us a discount but raised the price of the rent instead! I wanted to slap him so hard but I calmly asked him why he was going to do that. He just said, rooms on that floor are much more expensive than on the top floor. So, I said to him I kind of understand why the rooms on the 5th floor are cheaper. Because he forgot to tell his tenants that there's an added bonus when you live up there. You get an instant swimming pool when the rain comes. He just sneered at me and turned his back and went away. I was so mad that I wanted to punch something. So, what I wished for him was that I wished that someone will rob his house, hogtie him and pull off his clothes and put him outside, under the relentless rain. With extra thunderclaps and horrible lightnings!

You are right. If I am in your place, I too would have wished the same. Nobody should break the rules and moreover breaking the rule results in another's life. It is clear that if he driving that speed he might lose his control and end up in accident. It is better he be caught by a police and taught some good lesson so that he won't dare to do such things as risking other's life with rash driving. Hope everybody follow the rule and don't create miseries for other families. Safe driving.

well yes, in the height of anger and say it like i mean it. But whenever things cool down i wish i just didnt said it. hehehe
Well you know people, when they get mad, they hit anything next to them, they keep saying hurtful words, and act as if no ones' around watching them. But thats human, getting provoked.

I can lie yes i have wished misforturne on someone in my lifetime. There is two people in particular that live around me and are involved in my family realm that all they do is cause trouble and do terrible things to hurt me and my family for no other reason then to get there jollys out of it. I do feel that they have no life themselves but they can never get enough back to even up for what they have done to my family. They always said what comes around goes around but sometimes i wonder.
