OMG I just can't belive this. This poor toddler was beaten and abused for days on end and even though she was seen being abused by the neighbours they did nothing about it because they were scared yet at any time they couldve rung the police annoymously. This poor little girl was swung around on the clothes line until she feel off on the concrete and they did nothing. They could hear her terrible screams for days and they did nothing. These sick people put her in a bath full of ice and then in a dryer. she was seen on the roof screaming in terror but still nothing. By the time someone did something she was found barely alive and faces brain damage and who knows what. Im sorry but if I saw any of this I would ring the police what did a toddler do to deserve this?

I can't believe this and I'm only reading it..I live in Canada but if I were in that position I would call authorities right away...That is just terrible I honestly question the sense of caring or right and wrong out of those neighbors to let it go on for so long and sit by and watch and listen..That just breaks my heart..My heart goes out to that poor little girl my goodness...

Yes I agree with you and now today they reported that NZ is ranked third highest in the world for child abuse it becomes even scarier to hear that as we are such a small country and it would help if people stopped turning a blind eye to it all and did something.

I agree totally not only to put a stop to it..But with the parents treating their children such as they have can scar that poor child for life..I am a mother of 2 and I couldn't imangine that being done to my kids..That and I lost my 3rd a few months ago , so I'm watching around me to see how children are being treated..

That was really devastating. And the answer to your question is no. Being adults doesn't make our lives more important than the children's. Every living person on this earth have equal rights to live safely. That poor girl has the great misfortune of having horrible neighbors who didn't have the courage to put an end to the horror that they are seeing. She deserved to be saved from the hell she was in, not only because she's a child, but because she's a scared human being. Even if an adult is put in that kind of situation, they still deserve to be helped. Every human being is equal. Every one of us has the right to live a life that is free from any horrors. May we be an adult or a child.

Thank you. These days reaching out a hand to a neighbor can be very difficult. Because there are times your help can be treated as butting in their business. As for myself, I haven't experienced having a neighbor who really needed my help. But my husband, while I was away at home, helped a neighbor's baby be brought to the hospital. Our neighbor found out too late that his baby had turned purple and stopped breathing. His baby didn't make it to the hospital.

Hello Arianasmum, I really feel that all life is precious and should be highly valued. This account give me the chills and makes me feel really bad. Even though all life is precious a childs life needs specail protection and care. Adults can reason, (at least, some can, those who saw this baby tortured, I wonder about), Children can not and as an adult we need to protect them and keep them safe. No child should undergo this horrific treatment. I hope this child will be okay. I too would have put the childs life before my own safety. Some overgrown bully needs to be cut down a peg or two and I sure would be one to do it. How dare some adult treat a child with such disregard for their tiny little bodies. I agree they could have at least called the police. This baby needed help and when those who watched it did nothing they now must live with that childs injuries on the hands. By not doing anything, they took part in the torture and abuse of this child. I hope their minds are bothered with this for a long time to come. Take care, Jadona2006

Hi arianasmum! OMG that's horrible! I would have done the same thing as you would, I would call on the police and even go out of my way to call the attention of the abusers to stop abusing the child and threaten them that I will be calling the Child Welfare and the police so that they will be investigated. I guess the neighbors are as cruel as the parents of that toddler. Just imagine the toddler being so defenseless and these people did nothing because they were scared or don't want to get involved or inconvenienced of the troubles of a defenseless child. I feel so sad and angry why these things are happening. I just hope people will care.

I feel the same way as you sad for the child but anger for those that abused her and those that did nothing.

that's aweful dude, children have rights too you know. I pray that justice wont go blind on this one. But in this case, why would the neighbors do nothing? isnt that aweful? i mean the child was helpless, she couldnt do anything to defend herself and i bet the neighbors knew that right? Man if i was there, i swear ill do something to help that child. In the part of the child, this may affect her when she grows up. And inable for that bad effect to happen, she must be treated with love and care and allowed to live a life like any other children.

that's really sick... i think a child's life is as important as an adult's life and there is no reason at all that they should be subjected to such a cruel abuse... i thihk it is very inhuman... a life is a life and it is a gift from God... so no matter whether it is an adult or a child, the life is equally precious... so i think we have to respect it as much as an adult's life...

I agree with you but I would never be that scared not to do anything if I saw abuse happening to anyone.

Thats tragic! and horrible and the list goes on BUT its unfortunately NOT shocking ro suprising at all...and its far from being a "new" thing....Ppl dont like to get involved even when their involvement could save the life of a child..It was like that when I was a kid and abused with the neighbours knowing and its like that now....Sickening isnt it?! ppl back then (when I was a kid) didnt want to get involved because it just wasnt something you did...ppl NOW dont want to because they cant be bothered to lose precious time out of their lives...Sounds nuts but its true...

OMG! That's scary.. How could someone do that unless they were really insane. I just can't bear to read this story, and I just don't understand how people could see it all and say nothing about it. Put a little girl in ice and in a dryer!! God forbid.. I would throw those people on hot coals for a week atleast if I were a judge!! Cannibals!!
