In life, you have to take some risks...

"Life offers no assurance. Everything involves risks. If you're afraid to take one, then you live no life." These are the words of wisdom from the woman who took care of me for 9 months inside her womb. hehe...
We talked about the legality of some important documents and from time to time, I asked her questions (and sometimes, argued) regarding the how, why and what of those papers to make sure of its validity. (Just practicing my Accountancy course! hehe...)
She might have been pissed off or could not argue anymore or just wanted me to shut up so she could concentrate on watching the late night news that's why she threw me that statement. It left me dumbfounded! She succeeded to ZIP my lips!! Hehe...
As always, she's right. I always go into something with much preparation (something I've learned from being a varsity player) and see to it that things, if not all, are under my control. Things were always well-planned for me and there were only rare moments when I go out of my comfort zone and do something I never expected I could do. But later, I realized that those unexpected events were also the situations that made a difference in me, which added to my growth and maturity and where I learned much about living life.
Funny! Sometimes, I wish that one already knows the lesson before he passes through such things, but then, the significance of the learning process will never be of much value and the sense of appreciation will just be gone. Right? c",)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone! *mwah!*

No risk, no reward. Not all risk is good, of course, but most of us err on the side of caution too often. We all try and control our environment, but if we could control everything, how boring that would be. Some things are meant to be unexpected discoveries, like love. I have moved a lot during my life, often to places where I didn't know anyone, and my friends would always think I was crazy to change, but these were some of my best learning experiences. Now I feel confident that I could live anywhere and succeed. Good quote from your mom!

Hi AnythngArt! Very well said. :) Yup, I agree with you. Unexpected things are mostly the ones that build our character. And in during those tough times when we are shaken, we learn more about ourselves.
It's quite an irony that we learn how strong we are when we found out what makes us weak. (",)
And thanks for acknowledging my mom's quote. I'll go tell her! *hehe*
take care and God bless! :)

Very wisely said and coming from the most wonderful teacher - mom - it has added value. yes we all have to learn from our experience but advice from our seniors is invaluable because they speak from experience.
You do not have to fall into each pit(hole) to learn - but some first hand experience can only be gained if we take risks. No matter what - life is full of surprises and these risks and unexpected make it more interesting.
How would you enjoy life if every action and result was predictable?

Hi dbhattji! :) Learning from our folks experience help us in some ways. (",) But I still say that experience is the best teacher. We will never really know "how it feels like" if we never had gone through the same process. It's just a matter of learning from the things we made in the past, savor the moment and plan ahead for the future. (",)

My, I don't think I have ever planned my life and even through fear I leave my comfort zone too much.
I met my partner 19 years ago and only after knowing each other for 4 months we decided to have a baby, which I fell for first go!!! My mum was very upset but for me I did not once think of the future or the consequences and just went for it. Although we have had our rocky moments we are still together, so deep down I must have realised it would be alright in the end.
I went and did a degree before even realising what I had got myself into but at the time it felt right so I went for it and luckily it turned out to be a good decision.
Personally, I feel the fear and do it anyway (my hero Susan Jeffers) and only afterwards do I analyse what I have done.
I know so many people who try and plan their lifes down to a tea and I honestly think they miss out on so much for not being spontaneous!!
I believe we should live life to the full and only then can we look back and ponder on the mistakes we have made, but at the same time we may have had alot of fun making them!!LOL

Hi ItTakeAllSorts! :) Thank you for sharing about your experiences. And yupz! You're right about that. You better do something now than later on, regret and wonder why you didn't do it. :)
God bless you and your family always! Take care! (",)

I agree that every aspect of our life involves some degree of risk. Life is full of choices. And with every choice we make, be it in matters of love, finances or career, there will be both consequences and rewards. We will enjoy the rewards and suffer the consequences. That's what it's all about.

I think that in real life, we cannot plan everything. Some things in life come without a warning. We have to face it and this makes us grow strong. Accept life as it comes and plan when needed. Everything will be fine.

Hi sr0415,
Actually risks is part of opportunity. To me I derived high return with low risks is an opportunity. Risk consist of many factors that we have to look into. From the risk factors, we learn about how to manage it and make us more innovative in searching for terms and procedure.
As innovation is create new, the extensions, duplications and synthesis. And it propotionates or reciprocate with management skills.
Innovative in managing risk factors will make high returns as risks is minimize or even dissolve to its precision.
That is all from me.
Kindest Regards,

I agree that we do have to take some risks. For me, I need to take the risk in asking a woman out. I need to stop being afraid to make the first move or to ask someone out. If I stop being afraid or shy, I will never meet that special woman. Women very rarely ask the guy out so I need to take a chance. I did finally take a risk while on vacation when doing parasailing. I had been afraid of doing it for so long but finally got myself to do it.

Hi kgwat70! I[m glad to hear that you're able to face your fears about asking women out. It's true, we have to take risk so that we'll know what the outcome is. How will we ever know if we won't try, right? It's simply a matter of getting out there and MOVE! :)
Take care and God bless!

Yeah, tell me about it. I try to keep my risks to a minimum and not try to take too many of them all at once.

Hi bilalalikhan1! You're right. Life gives us unexpected blow. But then, these unplanned things are usually the ones that build our character and make us stronger person.
"If you fail to plan, you plan to fail." We need to plan ahead of things and we must always have alternatives whenever we make our plans.
Best of luck! Take care and God bless! (",)

risks are part of our everyday lives.. we're not perfect, well nobody's perfect.. we all commit mistakes.. and in risks comes mistakes and success.. like in investment, you take risks in investing your money or the like.. i guess faith is really something.. and in faith comes trust.. and everything falls under it.. just believe in, we actually dont have to see to believe.. there are times, everything are well-planned, yet theres the risk of making decisions rather big decisions in life and when you commit the wrong decision (which is quite normal with everyone) *boom*, everything turns to be in a mess. but for every mistake theres always a lesson., life is like a process, trial and error, risks are ways to success! im looking forward to enjoy my youth.. have a good day my friend!

Hi aikastacruz! :) You're right about what you said above. Everything in this life is a matter of getting out and see what is in store for us in this world. And most of the time, unexpected and unplanned things that usually shake us to go out of our comfort zones are those that build our character.
Yes, I can see that you're still young. Enjoy every moment of your youth! :)
Take care and God bless!
