QUESTION: Does God answer ALL prayers?
Who said YES? Raise your hands! LOL... *I'm waiting* tik-tak-tik-tak! hehehe... =]
And who said NO? Hmmm... Nobody? Ows..??? Does anyone said No?
How about those who didn't answer anything? Neither Yes nor No? . . . . You failed the test. *hehe* Joke... =p
----------------------
Todays' gospel is on Luke 11:9 which states "So I say to you, 'Ask, and what you ask for shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and the door shall be opened to you.'
Such a wonderful promise, right?
----------------------
When you ask this question, "Does God answer all prayers?" There are two possible answers, right? Either YES or NO, isn't it?
For those that were answered by God with a Yes, it's wonderful.
For those unanswered ones, you have still been ANSWERED... with a no. Still, it's an answered prayer, right? We are just the ones who are stubborn enough and do not ACCEPT that we were given a "NO" for an answer.
But then, our God is a reasonable God. Here's a list of reasons why we get a No to some of our prayers:
1. NO, because it is the better answer. We might have prayers that God knows are not meant for us and will just lead us to danger.
2. No, because it is cheap. You deserve MORE than what you asked for.
3. NO, because the timing is wrong. It is 'NOT YET.' We still need more time to grow and to mature until we're ready to face the "YES" for our prayers.
4. Lastly, NO because we are asking with a wrong disposition. We only turn to God when we need something - when we want IMMEDIATE response to our prayers. I quote a text message I received, "Prayer is NOT a spare tire where you can get it when you have a flat tire. Prayer IS a steering wheel. It is something that gets you going everday of your life." (",)
------------
I ask you again, 'Does God answer all prayers?' =) Hmmmm....

God promised to answer our prayers and give us everything we need and more. "Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.(Mark 11:24). But a wise parent will not give a child everything he or she wants. Similarly, prayer is not a magical trick to get anything we want or a "quick fix" for problems that we should be solving ourselves. God answers prayer requests in His own way in His own time,(Psalms 40:1-3), and will not grant requests that are against His holy and wise purposes, are selfish in nature, are not in our best long-term interest, or those made with impure motives. Often, we must be persistent in prayer. The answer, when it comes, may be in a form radically different than we expected, and we must be alert to that possibility. Sometimes, the answer must come from within ourselves and persistent prayer will help us find that answer. We may need a new attitude or a different way of looking at things, or we may need to make amends with somebody.

Lets see it in the other way. I never prayed to god for anything. There was no need actually. Instead, I always felt like god helped me whenever I was in need. Just like having luck on my side every time. Hope I made myself clear to you.

Hello there sr0415!
YES, I believe that God answers all prayers. There has never been a second in my life that I have doubted God nor his ability or willingness to answer my prayers.
Yes, there have been times where I would pray and not see the results that I initially asked for but then in the long run, I begin to realize that God does not answer my prayers in a way that I would be able to receive it and move forward. At times he has answered my prayers through additional tribulations and suffering only to rise above it when I have learned and accepted what has been dealt to me. I feel that before God can answer your prayers you must first accept and embrace the life that has already been given to you.
I agree with your “quote” that God is not a spare tire and I will honestly say that I pray everyday! Yes there are times when I pray more than most days in my time of need, but then it is everyday that I pray for guidance, the continued protection over my children, the appreciation I feel for God and the continued faith that I have in my soul.

I thought when I pray God will usually answer in my favor and I always blame God if it will not turn in my favor but just this morning I celebrated the mass. I heard clearly what is the cermon of the father. It is about asking and answering our prayer. I try to reflect on it and yes, the priest is very much right. God answer all our prayer. We may always expect that the answer to be YES but now I know God also answered as NO because He like to give us more than what we ask for. And if he answer as NO, we just have to think that what we are asking for maybe not good for us....

For the last couple of years my mom was suffering from knee pain and hence she would avoid climbing steps or going out. However, recently she had to go outside for shopping and that night she was weeping on the bed because of the severe knee pain. She asked me to pray for her and in about 4-5 mins the pain left her completely. Now she does not have any pain, though she climbs steps or go outside. Jesus Christ, our Lord healed her completely.

I don't know how old you are but i feel you're treating God as a living person, saying 'yes' or 'no', siting at his desk sending out emails, from Heaven.
There is no person to me.
My will is my God. If i really want something to happen, i won't ask for it. I will lead my life in the way i think i should to achieve what i want. And this is not something you think about and do. You realize it after you get what you want. Only then you see the right path you took to get you where you wanna be.
To me praying, is talking to myself and asking my own self to be confident and to have the strength to walk the path. People that award everything that happens to an individual; God, are not in connection with the real world and don' see that the power is really in them.
Whoever each of us sees God: My answer is yes, God answers all prayers because as the moment from when we want something, we are set off to get it. And if we get something we don't want, we where asking for it, but hoping for a different answer.

he answers them all.... whether it's a no, yes, or a wait..... there's always an answer. he doesn't give us what we expect! but he still answers our prayers. i needed some extra cash and he hooked me up with some out of no where! i prayed for my own bedroom, a laptop, a car and an ipod and they all came to me! now i'm just waiting for a phone and a job..... i know he got my back! though it doesn't happen when i expect it, or how i expect it to happen, he still answers my prayers.
love ya God!!

indeed god answers prayer. it is just when we pray and ask we are either preoccupied in listening to his answers or we are have our own set of answers that we like to hear. god has always 3 way of replying to us, it is the yes, no, and wait.

Hi sr0415! YES, God answers all prayers. We just sometimes don't want to accept what He was trying to tell us. Sometimes we really have to listen with our hearts to hear His answer and accept that sometimes what we're asking is not really good for us or it's not yet the time to receive what we're asking because we're not ready for it yet. So, I totally agree with the reasons you have listed on why He were given a "NO" for an answer. All prayers are answered IN HIS TIME and not in our time and how we want it to be. We just have to have faith in Him for He knows what is really best for us. This is just my view. Have a nice day!

Yes! God answers prayers. In my prayer items I make sure that I really have what I want from God then I search the scriptures so that when I talk with the Lord I can converse with Him and claim his words then I keep a positive attitude, also I guard my thoughts with the scriptures by meditating on them and I make faith declarations. It won't be long and the answer is there.

I don't think so... I don't go to church anymore. But I try to keep you good deeds. Not hurting people, not stealing.
I think its fate and faith in oneself. Although if you keep praying for money , the money won;t come down from heaven. You got to work hard on it. Cannot depent everything on prayer and in God. We have to move.
