I have three cats that look almost the same. They are all greys and go outdoors. The neighbors can't tell the difference between them but like triplets as mommy I can tell them all apart. First they are all different ages and have slightly different sizes and shapes. And they all have white markings that are different. Also I can tell the difference between their meows. So when one cries to be let in the house I will say, Let Baby in or Let Junior in and let Willy in. And the kids know it too. We are always right because their voices are all different. Can you tell between your cats meows?

I have more than 20 cats, and a few of them sound similar. I can tell the difference between at least 14 of them. They have such distinct meows. My husband can't tell the dufference as much as I can.

With 20 I don't think I would be able to tell all of them either. HEHE Thanks for the post! Vicki

We can tell the difference between the three adults, they all have very different and distinctive meows, the five babies however, we cannot tell apart yet.

Yeah that is early I couldn't probably tell yet either. 8 kitties. Wow Lots of you have so many cats. We have three but feed the local strays. I know there are at least 7 regulars but they don't come in the house so they don't call me to let them in.

Yes I can tell my cats meows apart I feel your neighbors do not try. I am a twin. We do not look alike but our names are simmular. People use to say "I cannot tell them apart." We did not even look alike, It was they did not even try. I do believe it is the same with your neighbors.

When we had 2 cats I could tell the difference.
My boy cat had a very loud long meow and my girl cat hs a very quiet short meow, more like "mo".
They all around had such different personalities.

I love fun, warm fuzzie pet posts like this. Yes...my hubby and I can tell the different meows between our five cats.
Our little black one Nexus rarely meows...just does a little squeek. The bigger of the orange ginger twins Tigger has the loudest meow...Nova the mocha male has a Siamese yowwwllll, and Tetooh the smaller ginger cat has a squeaky little me...e...ooow. And our grey tabby Ells/Bells has a meow somewhere between half brothers Tigger and Nova.
So maybe others wouldn't pick up on it...but I agree Den Mothers of the furry clan club will always know the differences.

Well, good to know our shared warm fuzzy storied brightened your morning. Our five cats and 2 big dogs do make for one big, happy fur and dander filled house. But, even with that and some alergic reactions at times...all the love and campanionship they give more balances out the little extra work it takes to maintain them.
Thank you for the best response...I appreciate it..and the shared Den Mothers Furry Fan Club!

Thanks for your cute response! I just got up so early this morning cause I fell asleep very quickly yesterday after such a busy day and I came on here half alive without a tea in me yet and I am all smiles. Thanks for making my morning so nice. I love my kitties and love hearing about your babies! Thanks a lot! :) Vicki
