I went out one morning to see what my dog was sniffing, and it was cat poop..I got to thinking about it, and as I was looking around I saw where it might be coming from...I didn't have proof, until now..My neighbor mentioned that he had opened the bathroom window so the kitten could sit there. As I got a closer look, there is a pooper scooper sitting on the window ledge...so I thought maybe he was tossing it out the window...I went out just now to put my dog out and she went right over there, which is part of my yard, and she had located more of it...It has litter attached to it and there was alot of it...I have even found it on my driveway area and that is a good 6 feet from his house....I had stepped in it and that has really got me steaming.....What would you do? This just isn't right....

Oh my goodness! That is so rotten! I have 3 cats and I never even would do that to anybody! It's so easy just to scoop, bag it up and put it in the can. How lazy of him! I think you can report that to the health department or something. it's not right at all!

Oh how wonderful to find your dog eating his cat's crap! UGH! Im so glad you went over and said something to him.
If he DIDNT know where to put the cat poop then it sounds to me like he DONT need no cat! GEESH! How dumb!
Did he atleast apologize?
I would keep an eye out on him so he don't do it again-- he sounds like a real winner....

Pick up the poop with a scooper and throw it back LOL
I would have a serious word to the neighbor. I don't like walking around in our apartment yard and find doggy poop all around. I complain to the building Manager because as far as I see it, dog owners should be picking them up, I mean it is the law right? i think. Anyways i would have a nice word with the neighbor, it might have been an accident maybe.

I don't think it is an accident..He is doing it because he can and he doesn't care..this is just the way he is...I go out with my dogs and when they poop I pick it up immediately..There is no reason for him to be doing this...thank you..maybe I should leave a note or better yet a plastic bag on the window, maybe he will get the hint..

I think I would be tempted to return to sender. This is really a tough one because what ever you do he probably will retaliate. One thing you might do is get him a box of Arm & hammer easy flush cat litter. I have been using this for some years now and find it really nice to just scoop and flush. He might get the hiny and start buying himself if you let him know where to get it. Your profile dosen't say where you live so it's hard to suggest a store. I sometimes get mine at Food Lion or BILO grocery stores.

I live in Pennsylvania..We have Bilo..The problem is, he is very cheap..if he can get it for free, he will, and if someone else does it for him, all the better...That is not anything he will consider..I am going to tell him to stop doing it..

Maybe the fact that he is so cheap will help you out? Tell him that he will have to pay the vet bill if your dog gets sick from eating his cat's poop.

I would find someone in authority and report it. I'm not sure who that would be but it is pretty gross.

PS. You could tell the health department or the cops that it landed on your head and that you were pregnant and cat poop is dangerous to pregnant woman... and that is the truth.

I am glad you let him know what you thought. BTW I am pretty sure your dog will not get sick from eating the poop. Many dogs enjoy it as a snack or dessert! I had one dog that would sneak it from the litter box and it is the litter that was more dangerous than the poop.

You are funny...And it is dangerous to pregnant women...I managed to go over and tell him a little while ago..I went to get my dog and she was eating it, so I marched right on over and asked him and he said yes..he did it. He was throwing it on his flowers because he didn't know where else to put it...Idiot..I told him to put it in a bag and throw it in the garbage...I just hope my dog doesn't get sick now...I was pissed....thank you.

I would pick it all up, and go and knock on his door and ask him if he had lost something, then shove it in his face...Or leave it on his doorstep with a ribbon on it, or dump it in his letterbox, or tossing randomly around his front door and hopefully he treads on a jackpot.
I cannot believe the nerve of this guy, how dare he do this...Its not only rude and disrespectful, but whats going through his mind...Gee, he takes the effort to scoop it, whay not just put it in a bag and toss it in the bin...What a loser..

Because he is an idiot..I hope I can say that on here..*smiles*..Would you come over and do it for me??*laughing*..I am going to confront him tonight and let him know how I feel..How about if I nail the window shut? That would be really funny...Can't do it, I will go to jail...that would be my luck..LOL..He doesn't even pick up his dogs poop in the front yard and his grandkids play there...GROSS....His dog is little but it doesn't matter..

Hello Feona1962!:-)
I usually have problem confronting people for some offence who are otherwise nice. But apparently, it seems that you neighbor is definitely not a mannered or a nice person. I confront these types of people head on, the ones who are clearly offensive and careless.
It's good that you have already talked to him and I hope that he listens to you and do not do it again. If however, he is not corrected than many responders have suggested many interesting and useful things to do. Perhaps getting help of some law enforcement agency is the best. Some solutions on your own end can spice up the situation and you can enjoy the results:-)

Well I'd have to say that's never happened to me.. I have never had very close neighbors like that for it to happen.. But if I did and that happened to me I'd be charging my bum over there and giving him/her a piece of my mind.. Not rudely but enough to say that's just plain nasty.. It is nasty, I mean what would they do if you threw your dog pooh in there yard.. Hey you know thats an idea.. ha ha j/k.. But no really I know I wouldn't tolerate something like that..

Yes a plastic bag wouldn't hurt any I know I use that and throw it away.. I think he's just playing with you to be honest.. I mean come on why would the pooh be in your yard the flowers I don't believe are there... Some people!!

If a cat came by and pooped in my yard that would be different, but he is throwing it out his window with the litter...I took care of it last night, after I found my dog had gotten into it..he said he didn't know where else to put it..I told him the garbage was where he should put it..

Wow, that's so very inconsiderate, as well as irresponsible ownership. Sorry that you have such a crappy neighbor (no pun intended LOL). Have you said anything to him about this? MAybe he doesn't realize that it's being flung into your driveway.

This is disgusting. How could they do such a thing. Do you get on with them? I would be throwing it back over their fence, or putting it in a nice pile on there front step. It would be funny if they stepped out their door and into a pile of it. If you added a bit of water to it, it would be even better.
Best wishes to you, feona, and i hope you get this sorted out real soon.

This reminds me of a story.
I had a coworker that was always complaining that his neigbour would take his dog for a walk every morning and let the dog pooop in my coworker's yard. The neighbour would never clean it up. One morning during the morning routine, my coworker, looking out the front door at what was happening suddenly became so enraged, he stormed out there is his batrobe and slippers, picked up the poop and threw it at the owner. The poop hit him square in the back! The two grown men screamed at eachother for quite a while and the end reult was that the dog no longer pooped on my coworker's lawn.
Perhaps talking it out would be a better solution for you!

I think you should inform the authorities. If that doesn't work then return his poo. If it was me, I would throw it back at his car window, porch, gate, door knob, anything he always use, touch or step on. That way he would need to clean them. Make it as messy as possible so he would learn his lesson. It would be even better if I could throw it at his face. Let him have a taste of it.

Thanks. I know how you feel and I really hate people who litter on my place. My neighbours' dogs are an example, they pee on my car tyres whenever I forget to close the gate. Its a pity though I can't throw the pee back at them because they are either officials or are related to one. I wouldn't want to end up in jail. But I do throw stones at the dogs whenever they try to come to my house.

Ya, it just isn't right ot be throwing trash into people's yard. Perhaps you can train your dog to bark when your neighbour starts to throw the litter over. That might just alert and warn the neighbour to behave himself now that you are keeping watch on his actions. lol.

to be frank, i have been laughing for the past 10 minutes after reading ur discussion... it is one hell of a situation to be in.... what sort of neighbour does such stuff???
u can start by confronting your neighbour... ask her why she chose your home to be her personal dump yard.... threaten her that next time she does it, u will toilet train your dog to poop in her yard! LOL
AND if she doesn't still listen to u, u cud take the matter to some resident's association at your place or municipality!! or just sue her ..

I would be really mad too! It's totally unfair to you. How hard is it to scoop it into a platic bag...tie the bag up and put it in the trash.
Try to get proof of him doing it, record it or something. Leave a recorder in a good spot that would catch him doing it. Then tell him if he doesn't knock it off you'll report him.
