Its been a long time since I last used myspace profile and because it doesn't have much in it, I don't bother with it anymore. I use bebo.com and its open to the public. I do get spam friends and close it now and then and then reopen it when it calms down.

My profile on MySpace and all of my other social networks is set to public. To me that is the whole point of being on those networks. If I wanted my profile set to private I'd just keep a private locked diary, not a website.

I keep mine too private because I use it only to keep in touch with my family and friends who are spread out in the world. I can see where you are coming from, yes it is a social network but I simply choose to keep it within my realm of friend and family.

i have it public. i still like to hear from new bands, artists, etc, and exchange ideas with them. i delete fake friend requests and emails, esp those without pix. those that spam my comments, blogs, i block them, and report them directly to myspace. i fig they wana act like a retard, i got no prob frying them, or at least pointing them out to the guys with the flame throwers.

Thank you fr your honest response, I guess those who spam do deserve to be blocked. I have my profile for a person page and I really hate when someome tries to take advantage and mess up the two hours I took just to make my profile look banging....lol..

i keep mine open to all however i have it set that comments do not go onto my page without me giving them the OK also if someone spams me i will block user!

If I would've known that I could keep the spammers away by doing it, I would've done it a long time ago...maybe I should go set my page to private right now...

Oh dear, I didn't read the discussion properly. It says on myspace. Sorry about that, I was referring to mylot. I don't have a myspace. I didn't join myspace for the very reason that a lot of my friends tell me they get spam and spam friends and stuff like that.

minue used to be private but now it's public. i usually get friend request from people that i know, or people who know people that i know. I usually ask them who they are and how they found me on myspace before i accept them as a friend. but my pictures are private.

My myspace profile is set on private and inorder to add me as a friend you have to know my last name because some people in myspace are really rodde and dont have anything better to say.
I always get spams aswell and i really hate it because it really bothers me and they are so nonsense.
Befor it use to be set on public but i had no choice but to put it on private.
Yes,people i dont know sometimes tends to send me messages and i dont mind getting to know people but i dont like adding people who have no respect on what they dont know:)
