hi i just love the smell of homemade bread. i would have to say its one of the best smells in the world. i find it distracts me from whatever i'm doing and draws me to my bread machine and i know i shouldn't but i just have to open the lid to have a good smell even though i know i'm running the risk of affecting the cooking process i just can't help myself does anyone else do this?

I love the smell of bread in the oven. I make all of our bread any more, can't stand the store bought stuff. I don't have a bread machine though, I prefer to make it by hand, or sometimes will use my kitchen aid mixer to mix up a large batch. What kind of bread do you usually make?

yes i should have a go at making it myself just so i know i can, but a bread machine is so easy i mainly make a multigrain bread for the children but a nice plain crusty white bread is nice every now and then. i also use it to make the dough for foccacia and pizza is well they obviously need to be finished off in the oven

I make pizza dough, a farm house bread which is a multi grain, but very soft, plain white and a honey wheat bread. I would like to make a rye bread but haven't found a recipe that sound good yet.

maybe this is a deciding factor when the set up these factories that they know people will be driving by and smell the baked goods and then go out and buy some

I can usually wait till it is done cooking. However, if I am home alone, I shall just have to dig into it when it is ready. Melted butter on nice warm bread. There is nothing like it. Pretty soon, I notice that I have eaten half of it and I must make another loaf!

yes i find its easy to consume a whole loaf of bread in one sitting with me and my 2 little ones there amazing for a 2yr old and 4yr old they can eat, if i leave them with a fresh loaf of bread and walk away i come back to not much left so i have taken to staching the first crust for me because sometimes i do miss out

Mmmm. I love homemade bread. I have a breadmaker and haven't actually made bread in it...lol.
I think this fall I will. And when I do I am sure I will be making it everyday, since I can't stop eating it.

I feel the same way, lol. Fresh baking bread is just awesome! I don't open up my breadmaker, or the oven door though and it still wafts through the house. Whenever I make it I keep a knife and some butter right by it so I can have a slice as soon as it cools down some. I just can't stay away from fresh homemade! Yum (now I'm going to have to fire up that breadmaker, hahaha, just talking about it makes me want some!)

We don't make bread at home. But I like the smell of cake while it is being baked at home. I do the same. I used to pass through a famous biscuit factory on the way to my previous workplace and could smell the cookies which was so refreshing.

I also love the smell of homemade bread! Bread is my big downfall when it comes to dieting! I don't open the lid of my bread maker though, I have a small kitchen and if I just stand in my kitchen I can smell the smell all I want! I love to eat it warm with lots of butter! My favorite is Hawaiian Sweet Bread. I have tried a box recipe for the bread machine and it is ok, but I really like the one that was in my book that has pineapple and coconut in it! I have moved recently and I have not been able to find that recipe book, I am going to have to go search the net! Now I am craving some homemade bread!
