What was the first Final Fantasy you ever played?

The first one I played was Final Fantasy VIII. I bought it from a friend of mine together with her Playstation, and it's my favourite to this day. :D I never really got into FFVII after that, I think the materia system and the lack of good graphics (compared to FFVIII, VII is pretty dull visually) made me a bit disappointed, after hearing so much good things about it.

Same here!Played the FF VII when the first time I got my Playstation and loved it, I know the graphic is kinda dull compared to todays games, but seeing the Bahamut fmv/Odin/The limit techniques for the first time really amazes me. I like FF VIII too, but only for the graphics and FMV, the storyline still cant be compared to FF VII, you got everything in it, theres love story, betrayal, lost n found, family reunion, every aspect needed to make a good story. FF VII is the perfect RPG for all time!!

The first final fantasy game I ever played was X and It is still my favorite. Probably always will be. I like X-2 and 7 also but X is still my favorite of the 3

FF VI was my first Final Fantasy. I played it after seeing it's positive review on one site. And after playing it for just one hour I became a Final Fantasy addict... forever.

My first Final Fantasy was the very first one, the NES one. My mother actually found it for me while I was browsing through the game rental area. She pointed out the title and the box and said, "You like things like that, why not get that one?" I did and have played the vast majority of anything that had Final Fantasy in it.

It will be final fantasy 2, 4 and it has the best story in final fantasy series yea . Once of thoese classical game that shows betrayal

Mine was FF VII as well, I never really like 1 - 6, but all the later ones are good.

My first would be Final Fantasy VII when the PSX was still so well known. I wasn't able to go backwards on the series, only forward

First one I ever played was FF7 as well. But my friend owned it and let me play and well a while later I had my own psx and a copy of the game. It was never as cool as those first few minutes playing it but every once in a while I fire it back up and play a bit. You need to do that, go back to the days of yore when games had real storylines and none of that rehashed drivel that passes as a story nowadays. When the main selling point of a game wasn't 'how pretty it looked' and sure there's better ones than FF7, but that doesn't stop it being the grand-daddy of the modern rpg. Or at least, something that set a new standard in the genre.

hmmm.. im very familiar with Final Fantasy and its over hyped but i haven't manage to really play it until recently. its...*actually i forgot which FF it is* but its Dirge of Ceberus. i felt compelled to beat it because its Vincent's story though its quite pathetic, the game huh. lol! and i manage to beat it! lol!

The first Final Fantasy that I played is FFVII. I'll became hooked with that I also played FFVIII and FFIX. Unfortunately, I didn't yet play other Final Fantasy like FFX and X2. But FFVII is one of my favorite game that I played.

The first one i played was Final Fantasy. the very first one, in Japanese. Didn't know what was going on cause i cant read Japanese. but after that was VII. then i became addicted to Final Fantasy and Square. Final Fantasy VII is still (imo) the absolute best RPG ever in history.

The first one for me is VII.. i got it becase my friends said it was the most popular RPG..i got it when i was in elementary school, about 11 years ago..hmm..missing those days...

Mine was Finalfantasy VII, I have never played I-VI and XI, but all 7, 8, 9, 10,X-2 and 12 I have played and Dirge of Cerberus. I think Dirge of Cerberus is the best flollowed jint second by 7 and 8. I cant remem ber how I got into the series, but I have never looked back.

FF VII i think it's a poor game with a medium graphic, unlike chrono cross, it was full 3d with 1:1 size and wonderful magic scene... but when i keep playing it, i realize that ff VII has a good story, and a lot of minigames etc.

I remember when i was realllly young and at a friends house i played some rpg on his NES, I had no idea what I was doing so didn't play it for very long. I realized that it was final fantasy I many years later, after getting the playstation version. But that was a loong time ago, I would count final fantasy VII as the first game that I actually played for real and knew what I was doing. Even after watching a friend play ffVIII before that, i still thought VII was a great deal better despite the graphics. The materia system is way better than Final Fantasy VIII's system of fighting. The plot was so much better, the characters more memorable, just an overall better game.

Final Fantasy VII was my first. Until now, for me it is still the best in terms of storyline. I love it very much and am a rabid fan. I'm quite happy with the new releases of Dirge of Cerberus, Advent Children, and the upcoming Crisis Core. Go FFVII!

Wow I feel old. The first one I played was the original on NES. I have beaten that one as well. I have played every one of them and been a fan forever. I still have a working NES and the game. Olg gear is still great fun. Final Fantasy Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Final Fantasy 3 on Super Nintendo. I was just looking for a good game to rent and I came across it. After playing it that weekend diligently, I knew I had to get the game.
