My phone is mostly for emergency only. I don't really use it that much, but it goes with me everywhere. with four kids in the vehicle most of the time it comes in handy if i have a flat tire or if i break down.

Having one for emergency use is the one good use for people carrying them. We were told at a senior citizens meeting that cell phones, used ones, without a program, can be used to call 911. We do have one in our car for this reason, and we make sure it is charged up.

I completely agree!! I am so sick and tired of everytime you turn around there somebody stands with a cell phone permantly attached to the side of their heads. I think they are overrated. the world did just fine without them.

Too me it's a necessity it come everywhere with me and makes my life so much easier, i can talk to anyone at any time which makes both my personal and professional life one thousand times easier. Having said that if i had to be without it i could cope for a short time not forever though.

It is a luxury for me although if you get used to it, it becomes a necessity.

I just can't seem to really get into the whole using the cell phone thing. I realize that times change, but cell phones still seem like such an intrusive thing. People seem to be COMPELLED to answer the things, no matter where they are. I am so tired of hearing the details of other peoples lives while sitting in the doctor's office. I have watched people answer them in resturants, and seen them ignore the people they are with while they chat with others on the phone. Seems very strange to me, also very rude.

I believe..it is a necessity now a days. But only those cell phones which are use specially to keep your family informed if you are out somewhere..or use for emergency cases.Besides this,it is a luxury,if you are misusing it or buying so many expensive phone,in which you don't even know about their complete features but you are using it.

For me is mostly a necessity. I barely use it anyways. The only times I use it is when i come out of school and i call to tell my mom that i'm on my way home or if there's an emergency or something like that.

Luxury item as far as I am concerned. And,I might add, it is one I will gladly do without. This is one of the most intrusive things ever invented. I can understand pagers, for people such as doctors and fire fighters, but this constant use of cell phones EVERYWHERE is really beyond insanity. Amoung other things they are dangerous- driving with one on should be illegal.

Hello there Kudeshi! For me it defiantly a necessity because I have a son with a disability and when I am not home, off paying bills or something there are times when they need to get a hold of me when he is out of control. Another reason is because I had purchased a used car and I have to keep the cell with me because if I ever have problems it would be easy for me to get help. With that being said I must say that it is a necessity!

It became a necessity, since I need to call home everytime I have to come late, and I came late a lot.
