I kind of had a crisis on my 29th birthday anticipating my 30th. I was thinking 'what have I accomplished? what am I supposed to do with my life?' LOL. I am now 56, will be 57 in December, and birthdays are just another day now. 25 is not old. My mother is 82 and she gets around better than I do, and I still think she is not old.

Age is relative to your perception of getting old. Yes, you maybe aging physically every year but you can always stay young at heart.

This year was the first birthday that really troubled me. I turned 50 years old this year. That just sounds so old and I realize that I am on the backside of life now. I feel as though it has happened to fast and is moving too fast now! I became much more health conscious as a result...so it isn't all bad!

I am 27 and I feel like I'm 22 or 23. You're only as old as you feel. You want to know what I discovered last year? I had a job that I hated for like 6 years, and each year for my birthday I got really depressed becuase I wasn't where I wanted to be in life. Then I got a new job that paid well and made me feel happy, and when I turned 26 I wasn't sad anymore. I was so happy because I felt like I had a lot to be thankful for. So what I'm trying to say is that if you're happy with your life, getting older is not really going to bother you that much. Getting older is cool actually cuz you know so much more than you did when you were 21. The only thing that sucks is looking older, but feeling like you're getting wiser rocks indeed. :)

i've never wanted to celebrate my b-day's. i hate b-day's but things have been easier with my daughter being here and i celebrate with her now. i didn't have the best time growing up and was always left alone on my b-day for some reason. the only good one i had was the one i celebrated with one of my foster family's. anyway so now that i finally celebrate it a little i'm now hating getting older.

Hi Pop!
If I don't "see" you next week, happy birthday! :)
I've been celebrating anniversaries for the past 11 years. I'm still 25, and love it! I don't plan on getting any older than that, until my kids are older than I am. hee hee!
I panicked when I turned 30. I thought my life would end. But, now, I'm really 36, and loving life. I know more. I feel great.

Wow, i feel the same thing, and it was also my 25 bday last sunday. I also made a discussion about it. hehe. Happy Birthday to you!
I completely agree with what you feel. I felt so sad and depressed that I was getting old and such, but hey, being 25 for two days isn't so bad. My best friend told me, Age is but a number, what matters is how we feel and act.

if you start thinking you are old then you are old at anyage .on the other hand you remain busy doing useful work you never get old and people around you do not allow you to get old. This is my personal experience to this day.the other day i told my grand son that iam old he sid "granpa you are not old you are active as ever"

Wait till you're 40ish. You think you're old now?? You ain't seen nothing yet...LOL. Luckily though, I don't feel old yet. I'm not looking forward to turning 50 though. I think you really have to realize that you're middle aged, and that seems kinds of scary. I'm going to have the best mid life crisis though. I'm going to buy a sportscar, get a facelift, oh, it's going to be grand.

Hey pop I know exactly how you feel. I was pretty lucky though when I turned 30 I still looked early 20's, What's really bad, wait till you hit the big 40.
One other thing for you to think about. The day you turn 25, 1825 days later you will be 30 years of age.
My best advice is start bank rolling your money and start investing, get yourself a 401k, Ira's , etc...

I was in my late 40's when I was affected by a condition that normally hits people in their late 60's or 70's.
I started going to a support group, but had to take vacation time since it was during the day, then they stopped meeting for the winter because almost everyone went to Florida.

I know what you mean. I spent all my early teenage years wanting to be 18 so I could drink legally in pubs. Then when I got to 18 I didn't realise I was going to have to get older! I hated my 19th birthday and my 20th! Wow! Talk about miserable. I think I actually got a bit clinically depressed but then one day I just woke uo and thought "Ah stuff it, who cares about how many times you've been round the sun? You only get one life so go and live it!"
That's pretty much been my philosphy from that day onwards - and I've just recently celebrated my 50th birthday! When I was 29 approaching 30 I DID think that the jump from 49 to 50 was going to be pretty bad, but it was fine.

I'm going to be 25 soon, too. My birthday is August 29th. And I am not looking forward to it at all. I've never felt old before because of my age. I just sometimes feel old when I hear about something that happened 15 years ago, and I still very vividly remember it. That makes me feel old.
I also feel old when someone refers to me as Elliott's mom. I don't know why that makes me feel old, but it does.

Wow, turning 20 and you already feel old. lol
I remember when I was turning 20, I think I was pretty excited because I wanted to be grown up. I think in general when you're pretty young you wanted to be older and when you're at a certain age, you'd want to be younger!LOL But, yeah I know what you mean. I think it was when I was turning 30 that I felt I'm old. That was the time I got married and took the plunge because I felt it was the time and that I was "old" already.(: I'm 35 now, imagine how I feel with this age.

You're going to be 25 years old and you feel old? So, at 32 what am I then? :P I wouldn't say I am 'old' though I'm certainly not a kid anymore. LOL My husband is 40 and he acts younger than I do most of the time. LOL Age is definitely a number for some, I suppose.

When I was young I remember saying to myself that I would never complain about growing old. But now that I'm here, hit the 24 years old mark, I suddenly felt like complaining. I dont't know why but people generally are afraid of growing old, I think. I wonder if there are any of you out there not afraid to add another year old in your resume.
