Is it just me or do you loathe seeing the nutrisystem nourish commercials on tv? I mean... in general Americans are seen as being overweight and lazy and fat and the last couple years they've done all these crazy diets and fast food places have started selling "healthy options" and there's weight loss commercials on and tv shows helping people lose weight and this and that and everything to get Americans to get skinny... you know, be a size 2 or 4. I think anything over 5 or 6 is considered "Fat" anyhow. But the nutrisystem nourish is just the icing on the cake for me in my hatred for these things. I'm not fat. I'm not skinny. I'm AVERAGE and quite content with my weight. Technically I weigh more than I should weigh for my weight but I'm not obese, I'm not morbidly obese... and I'm healthy and I eat well for the most part. I'm not one who feels the need to lose weight or anything. However, these commercials come on and just make me want to punch the tv! The women is all "I went from a size 10...to a 2!" Or I got pregnant...had a baby and went from a 12 back to a 2! You know what... I wear a size 10 and it doesn't matter how much weight I lost...there's no way I could EVER fit into a size 2! You have these things inside you called...BONES and your bone structure can't shrink! Plus a size 10...a size 12 that's average! that's totally NOT FAT! It makes me crazy every time I see those commercials. Now I just saw one recently where the women is like "I couldn't get a job cause I was overweight. I went on nutrisystem nourish and lost 27 and a half pounds! that half really matters". gaining 27 pounds! omg she probably was what... a size 4 gained 27.5 pounds and became a size...8? Oh no you can't be on tv as a size 8! They just make me insane and I want to just beat up everyone who is in the commercials and created the commercials. Anyone else with me?!

LOL! Those commercials piss me off too. I'm average too and I don't even want to be a size 2...who wants to be that skinny? I am quite content with my curves and I'm like you, I will never be a size 2 anyway. My body isn't built like that at all. I got some junk in the trunk and that's okay with me. Do I enjoy having excess fanny? Not particularily, but it won't go away without surgery I'm sure. Another thing about those commercials is that the women all end up being cut and toned. Whatever. You don't go from being overweight and losing several pounds to having no excess skin and little leftover flab, if any at all according to those commercials. It makes me sick how our culture is obsessed with weight loss and looking like the ideal person. What is beauty anymore? All those 'healthy options' in fast food joints are stupid too. Well, I know the kid's meals are anyway. My friend's two kids got their meals from KFC and it had a whole lot of 'healty' food. I mean, it was like the same thing as a regular kid's meal by the time they added all the healthy snacks and crap. There was a bag of cheese thingys, 2 granola bars, a fruit roll, plus the food! It seems like there was something else in it too. Anyways...it was excessive and defeated the purpose of being healty. I guess it was better than regular chips and whatnot, but still. Whatever happened to exercise? Now people just want to lose weight without having to put any sweat into it. *sigh* It's all smoke and mirrors in those commercials. I'm content in my own skin.

oh man i didn't even realize that one commercial..about being on TV..is Danielle ..something or other. Topanga from Boy Meets World!!!! what the crap! they girl wasn't fat! and she dated Lance Bass from 'Nsync (who turned out to be gay but whatev-) why would she need nutrisystem!! The whole weight loss craze in america is the worst. That's ridiculous about the KFC kids meal. You know, I go to fast food restaurants TO HAVE that unhealthy fast food. I mean...der. That's like indulging in a good candy bar or dessert or something once in a while. It's like a Treat! If I want a salad...I'm going to go to the grocery store and BUY IT. I'm not going to go to mcdonalds and get one. I want my chicken nuggets and fries! I just wish there were more people in america who realized that being larger than a size 5 is perfectly OK. That it's not the end of the world if you're a few pounds overweight. That if you get to a couple hundred...there are ways to help. It's just about taking care of yourself and being who you are! not about being a size 2. blar!

LOL - I am so with you on this!! Who really wants to be a size TWO anyway??? That is way too skinny. I wouldn't mind being a size 4 again...but nothing smaller than that. Shoot I consider that to be pretty small. Those commercials are pretty ridiculous. And what's more is they're imprinting the young minds of America that a woman is suppose to be a size 2 or whatever...THAT is what makes me mad. As if they're isn't enough eating disorder suffering children in the world...

ha ha. I'm glad. It's true...2 is way skinny. When I see size zero's i'm like WTF! who fits into a ZERO! I don't think I've ever been a 2 in my life. Or a 4. I'm perfectly content being a 10/11. I used to be a 14 and I was even fine with that...I don't even know how I went from a 10/11 to a 14 as I don't excercise or diet! ha ha. But still...it's so crazy! I can stand all the other weightloss commercials but nutrisystem makes me honestly INSANE!

I am totally with you on this one those commericals and they are stupid. I know people who have been on nutri system and yes you do lose the weight but they do not teach you haw to eat so when you stop the program you usually end up gaining all the weight back that you have lost. I think if you eat right and exercise you will be the natural size that you are suppose to be. I will never be a size two either and I am fine with that!

the nutrisystem stuff isn't cheap either. I mean... I don't spend that much on groceries in a month yet alone spend that much on one months worth of food. It's just silly. Yeah. it really is all about knowing your own body...knowing what you can and can not eat...that you can splurge once in a while and that you need to excercise. Not to mention It's OK to not be a size 2. It's OK to be a size 12. Heck it's OK to be a 14!
