According to other people, what is the best thing you make?

According to other people, they are split, half say my raw apple cake/bread is the best and the other half say my tropical fruit loaf is the best. I can find my raw apple recipe, but I can't find the tropical one. Both recipes are very moist and pleasing. What do people say you cook or bake the best? Why do they say that? What is really good about the food you do best? I found one recipe in a church cookbook (I had never heard of raw apple cake) and the other in one of those tiny books at the check-out register for breads (that's the one I can't find). How did you get your best recipe(s)?

Italian Chicken and deviled eggs
I modified a recipe I found on a bottle of Italian dressing.
It's what everyone wants when they are visiting me.
I learned the devil eggs from my mom. Then added another ingredient.
This is what everybody ask me to bring to any dinner affair or for
the holiday dinners. I have made up to 168 (14 dozens of eggs)of these deviled eggs and they were gone before we could sit down for dinner.

I love deviled eggs! Is it a secret recipe or are you willing to share with us? 14 dozen eggs before dinner?! Wow!!! How many people were there?
It sounds like you have a wonderful way with those eggs. Isn't it great when someone really enjoys something you make? When an entire group of people really love something you make, it really, really makes you happy, doesn't it?

I also like that you created the eggs with something I have on hand at my house plus an ingredient that you add. Thank you for answering my original questions. I have a lot of curiousity when it comes to food.

This will sound silly, since it doesn't require much of a recipe, but my partner says i cook the best steak and mashed potato he has ever tasted.
I've questioned him on why he likes it so much and he says that my steak is always cooked perfectly, and has the right amount of seasoning, and my potatoes are always creamy.
When cooking, I always make sure I buy the best cut of porterhouse steak (sirloin) I can find. I trim off any trace of fat and score the meat, after pounding it a little so that it is of an even thickness and cooks evenly. I marinate it for about 5 minutes in simply salt, pepper, oil and season all seasoning. I only turn it once when cooking and keep basting it with my "marinade". I cook it on a grill so it gets nice lines, and it adds a different flavour to the meat, in my opinion.
With my potatoes, I boil them til they are falling apart then add a heap of butter, and a splash of milk and mash the h*ll outta em. LOL. Sometimes I use a stick blender to get them really smooth, but it depends.
Probably not the most exciting recipe but yeah, the one I get the most compliments on. That and my lanm/ potato casserole.

Thanks writersedge ;)
The marinade is simply vegetable oil and "season all " seasoning which is just a seasoning you buy from the supermarket here in Australia. I'm going to go grab the bottle and check the ingredients...
"Ingredients: Salt, Chili Pepper, Onion, Paprika, Pepper, Garlic, Celery Seed, Nutmeg, Coriander, Cumin, Cardamom, Cloves"
Sorry I can't give quantities, as it's a store bought thing :)

That sounds like a couple of foods that you put a lot of work and love into. Actually, I've had lots of rubber steakds and lumpy, half-cooked potatoes. So I'm sure lots of people will eat better steak and potatoes tonight because of you.
So to me, it's not silly, it's a public service. Thank you very much for this recipe. If he loves them best, it's for a reason. Thank you very much and take care.

The recipe is copywrited, but if you change the recipe enough, it is supposed to be OK. So I'll look it up. I think I did change it in a couple of ways and I would describe the process differently anyway. Because I don't do things the way most people do. It was from a church or community cook book ( I have a big collection of those).
I absolutely love stir-fries! What veggies and what oil(s) do you use? My husband is the stir-frier in the family.
Veggie chili sounds like fun, what's your special ingredient(s)?
Upside down pear and gingerbread cake. That sounds so incredibly awesome and delicious. Wow! I want some right now! Do you use a regular gingerbread cake recipe or one that's special?
Thank you very much, 3 specialites, this doesn't sound like a specialty, it sounds like an awesome meal!

I changed the recipe enough for it to be legal. I went back and looked, I had stuff written all over that I had changed.
Raw Apple Cake or Bread (super moist)
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp. of nutmeg or 2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup butter
2 to 3 eggs
1 cup chopped walnuts
2 1/2 grated apples ( before you grate: washed, wipe off, rinse again and leave the water on if the apples aren't juicy (the juice from the apples is the only liquid, so you need really juicy apples) Red crab apples are the absolute best for this recipe. They make it 10 times better. Grate the peel in to, makes for a wonderful texture unless your peels are really really hard)
1. Stir together dry ingredients.
2. Cut in butter.
3. Add egg, add apples, and nuts. Pour into a greased and floured pan. Mixture will be stiff.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes in a 13 x 9 inch pan. 8 x8 is 60 mins. Serve warm or hot with cool whip.
Juicy and sour apples work best. Take care and let me know how it comes out. Let a scoup of ice cream start to melt on top when you serve it. Also good the next day. Due to the amount of eggs in it, be careful on hot days. Either refrigerate left-overs or give to someone whose hungry. Take care

Lasagna! LOL My father in law says he never truly tasted a real lasagna until he had mine. Thankfully my MIL was not offended, but it seems everytime there is a family get together that's what everyone wants me to make.

What do you think makes it so special that everyone likes it so much? Do you put anything different from most people in it? Is the recipe one you made up or is it one you use from somewhere or a combination?
It's nice that they like that. Lasagna is hard work. Your stick person sticking out his tongue is funny.

Interesting bunch of ingredients. It must be a lot of hard work.
Oxtail and tripe are two things I've never eaten (that
I know of). Thank you for taking the time to write the entire recipe for us. Take care

well i guess i would say my chicken parm, which evryone always makes me make because i put layers upon layer of cheese.and my other one would be my carmel apple cupcakes.these cupcakes go very fast and the kids love them, because of the taste, appearance and the toppings ofcourse lol.they are really easy to make all you need is a package of spice or carrot cake mix,2 cups of chopped peeled apples, about 25 carmels,3 tabelspoons of milk, 1 cup of finely chopped pecans toasted perfered, and 12 popsicle sticks.prepare cake batter according to the directions, put in apples,a greased or paper lined jumbo muffin tin/cup and add it 3/4 full.bake at 350 for 20 min or until tooth pick comes out clean, cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan.make sure its cooled off.then get a sauce pan, cook the carmels and milk over low heat until smooth.spread over the cupcakes, sprinkel with pecans.then you can insert a wooden stick into the center of each cupcake.these are great with kids.i love to experiment.

I am so-o-o-o writing this down. I can't wait for the weather to stop being too hot to bake anything. This sounds incredable. I'm really glad you love to bake.
Your recipe and post really added to this discussion. Thank you very much.

Honestly, I am not good at cooking and I really cannot make a single food myself. But I should say, My wife is a good cook and I love the food she makes for me.
Especially, I love the Chicken Fry she makes at home for me, as I am a great of Chicken.

So how does she do her Chicken Fry? I was a great admirer of chicken, too. But lately, I've had too much of it. But mostly plain cooked chicken. Something different would interest me again.
Thank you very much for adding to my post and I'm glad for you that your wife is a good cook.

That does sound terrific! It's been so hot up here (high 90s F and 90% humidity) that I can't make one right now. But I would love to know how you make yours. Do you use a recipe or throw it together? Take care
