What do you with clothes that you no longer use?

In our house we keep them and gather them together and when they are many enough we send them to our relatives in the province.
We keep them so that we can give it to them because we know that they still can make use of it and it would surely be of great use to them.
Our relatives do farming and find it hard to but new clothes for their place is very far from the city and they can only sometimes buy new ones when they have extra money.
Its of the thing that my relatives wait for every christmas day coz its is what we have been doing for the past years and we do it to make them happy and to also help them.
How about you, what do you do with the good clothing that you no longer use?I hope you can share.
Happy mylotting!

I will always give my clothes away if they are in ok shape. My mother knows alot of people that wear my size so she gives them to some ladies she knows. My baby clothes I hand me down to a girl I work with who has a son a few months younger then my baby so it works out nice.

Personally, I tend to bag my clothes and donate them to charity. My son's outgrown baby clothes I usually sell on ebay, but occassionally I will donate those as well.
My partner seems to have clothes coming out of everywhere, so I usually try to do a big clean out o his drawers and his side of the wardrobe every few months... I usually get a few garbage bags full. My clothes on the otherhand, I tend to only have to go through once a year... if that, and even then I usually struggle to fill up even one bag.
I like giving them to charity, as I feel like I am supporting the community, and those less fortunate... we are not exactly "well off" financially... but are doing much better than we were, but are still not in position to donate a great deal of money, so I feel that by giving these clothes, as well as other goods... such as toys and so on, I am doing "my bit". :)

Sometimes I wear my clothes until they are not good for anyone else to wear. But, if they are still good and I want to get rid of them, I donate them to the Council for the Blind...they have a store where they sell donated things to support their group. Or, we might give to the Goodwill.

I offer them to my sons or give them away to charity, and if they are damaged then I just throw them away.

I usually take them to the Salvation Army or put them in one of the boxes for "King's Ranch" that they have around here. They supply clothes and other stuff for victims of domestic violence and homeless. I actually do the "King's Ranch" now instead of the Salvation Army. It's more convenient.

If the clothes that we no longer wish to wear are in good condition, we will usually put them aside in the wardrobe, and donate them to the Salvation Army regularly. We also sometimes donate unwanted clothes to our Filipino maid. She will usually want them because many of these are branded clothes. Some of the clothings we have donated are actually brand new, with their price tags still pasted on the labels. Sometimes we buy shirts and pants, and forget to wear them for some time, and they do not fit us anymore so we have no choice but to give them away.

I take ours to the Goodwill store, and they sell them. I think that is very good of you to give your clothes to your family. Clothes can cost alot of money. I am going over to my friends tomorrow and getting her baby clothes that she doesn't need and send them to my new niece, who just had her baby on June 21..

If there is something that no longer fits or I seldom use, I get rid of it. I will let my sons have it or give it away to charity, I don't like to have things lingering in the house.

If I know that I can get a lot for them I'll sell them on e-bay. Otherwise, I'll give them to Goodwill or something like that. Usually, they just sit around my house, though, because I never find the time to do something with them.

Wel if you have time you can gather them and if you feel that someone might need it you can share i those who needs clothes and just dont have enough money to buy new ones. It would make you happy to the happiness and the smiles of those who will recieve your clothes.
I hope you can decide soon.
Happy mylotting.

Hi,Zelmarq!
I have encountered the similar problem. And I started a discussion on Mylot.com for help. Most Mylotters told me that it is better to give my clothes to the charity organizations or the people who need our help.I think these suggestions are useful.
I think it it better to give your clothes to someone who needs them.

Same. We have loads of relatives in the province and most of our cousins are younger than us so our old clothes are a lot of help to them. Also, the old clothes come in handy for typhoon and other calamity victims.

we usually give our used clothing to our relatives in the provinces, sometimes we give them to the victim of flood, fire and to the less fortunate who sometimes knocks on our door and begging for clothes. Its good thing to share especially when you give it to the one who cannot give you in return.
