Why Are Hardcover Books So Expensive?

United States

I love to read and enjoy reading best sellers. Most of the time I wait until they come out in paperback before I buy them. I have not bought any books for a while now and I was a little shocked at how expensive it is to buy a hardcover book. Is it just me? Or have they gone up in price like everything else?

Because they are harder to bind, I think.

You do want the publishers and authors to live in a nice place don't you? LOL! Yes, prices on books continue to go up. Yet people are still buying them. It is a strain on library budgets even with library discounts though.

LOL! Pity the poor book people. I sure hate to have to wait those extra months to get them half price. Take that Barnes and Noble! Thanks!
