How would you know if what you're doing is really something worth doing?

The question may sound cynical but i just want to know your views on this. How would you know that what you are doing is really worthy of you doing it? For me, i think if you're doing something with a smiling heart, no matter how small or unimportant that thing may seem to be, it's still worth doing.

I think anything you do is because of something.. Rather it's helping someone, reading to a child, playing a game.. Everything has a meaning.. Make someone smile, giggle, laugh it make a person feel good for that cause.. Just my oppion!!
