I got a fun email from a friend the other day with a list to see how many shows we could remember watching when we were kids, the ones no longer on TV. It's a long list and it sure brought back some great memories, funny how a song or a TV show can spark such vivid memories of years gone by. I'm going to list a few I remember, like Land of the Giants, The Banana Splits, Land of the Lost, The Bugaloo's, Father Knows Best, Flipper, Petticoat Junction, Bewitched, and even though Little house on the Prarie is still on TV, every time I watch it, I remember how I couldn't wait for Wednesday nights at 8 PM so I could watch it on my little black and white TV in my room....What television shows do you remember watching when you were a child? Let's share the memories...

How could I forget The Brady Bunch? When I was in high school, every day in homeroom (I understand they only have homeroom occasionally now a days, but we went every day) I use to sing the theme song to this guy, it drove him nuts, which made me keep singing it. I even wrote every word of it in his year book, so he would never forget...That was years ago, I wish I could find him so I could sing it again. Jim if your out there let me know!

I guess it depends on how far back into my childhood you want me to go. As a little kid there was Mr. Dress-Up (who was around for a loooong time) and The Friendly Giant and H.R. Puf 'n Stuf (I saw someone mentioned that and was surprised someone else would remember it).
As I got older it was Bewitched, The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, Donny & Marie, Starsky and Hutch - ooooh I loved Starsky! I liked Fantasy Island and The Love Boat because they would have different stars on every week.
Petticoat Junction, Green Acres and Lost In Space go back a long way. I remember My Three Sons too. Mary Tyler Moore was pretty funny as well.
In later years it was Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Family Ties and Joanie Love Chachi.
I could go on forever really. But look how times have changed. All of the above are pretty much sitcoms. How many sitcoms are on tv today? I think we can count them on one hand. 'Tis sad, isn't it?

I remember Land of the Lost on Saturday mornings. And Father Knows Best, Flipper, Petticoat Junction, Bewitched, My Three Sons, Gilligan's Island, Leave It To Beaver on reruns after school. My dad loved Gunsmoke. And there was Love Boat and Fantasy Island on Saturday night, I think. Oh, and the Disney Movie on Sunday night. Oh, and CHiPs and Battlestar Galactica, the original. Star Trek and Lost in Space.

Lots of memories here, I forgot about My Three Sons. My son watches Drake and Josh and the other day, Eric Estrada (from CHiPs) was the police that pulled them over for running a red light, too funny!

Oh! I remember Petticoat Junction! Hahaha. I loved Bewitched too. I watched The Courtship of Eddie's Father with Bill Bixbie, Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley, D*ck Van D*ke Show, That Girl, Mary Tyler Moore and then Rhoda (didn't like that one much). That was when I was really young. Later, I watched shows MASH, St. Elsewhere, Chicago Hope, Melrose Place, Dynasty, Falcon Crest, Dallas, all those night soaps. I used to watch day soaps too - Ryan's Hope was my favorite.
Oh and Lassie, had to watch Lassie and Mayberry RFPD.
Game Shows: Price is Right, Newlywed Game, Dating Game, Hollywood Squares, Lets Make a Deal, and that one where one person is telling the truth and the other two are lying and the contestants had to guess which was telling the truth. Ummm...Oh DUH. To Tell the Truth. Haha.
A fun trip down memory lane!

When I was a child the idea of television would have been considered ludicrous. In fact, I had three children of my own before television arrived - just in time to watch man land on the moon. A few neighbours joined us to watch that.
My children watched many of the shows that have been mentioned in other responses, along with Skippy, Flipper and Play School, and of course Get Smart, which is still shown. My favourite was Callan and I would like to see that again.
I don't watch any TV now but might consider it if some of the good shows came back.

I was a child a looong time ago. At that time I liked to watch Baretta, but I had to watch it hiding from my mother because the show was violent and it was aired very late.
I liked Wonder Woman, Bionic Woman, Swat, Chips, Macgyver (ok, I weren't a child anymore), Land of Giants, Time Tunnel.
I recall Banana Splits. Is it that show with some people using dog costumes?

I live in Austria now and I must admit that I don't watch that much television anymore, as I dont enjoy watching movies or series in German. I was brought up in Peru, so all our television programs were dubbed into Spanish, but we still enjoyed watching them, although we got a bit of a shock when we moved to Australia and our favourite programs were suddenly all in English, with actors and actresses sounding different in their original languages!

Gee, it's hard to remember. I am now 49 years. We got our first TV when I was 6 years old. It was black & white & we only had one channel.
I remember various cartoons, especially one about a cat.
I remember Skippy the kangaroo.

But I enjoyed all these previously.

Well friend I am from India. And when I was a kid, I remember some cartoon shows like Moglee, etc. ongs serial like Chitrahaar, Rangoli and holy serials like Ramayana and Mahabarata. As when I was a Child there was not so many channels are on air in India, we were limited with a two or three channels like D.D.-1, D.D. Metro. When I was in 9th Class, we found a new Satellite Channel called Z-TV. In that there was a serial Hum Paanch which was very entertaining
