My preference depends on what I am using the product for. If I want grilled cheese I use Margarine, when baking homemade macaroni I use Butter.

Well just stop it already, alright...I do leave mine in a covered dish on my counter..Although when it is really hot in the kitchen, it just slides out from under the lid all by itself....so on the hot days I do put it in the fridge..I use stick butter..I used to use tub margarine..

Butter...I try not to eat "fake" or "processed" foods too much and butter was an easy choice because the taste IMO is so much superior to margarine.

I love butter. I especially love the unsalted butter which has a creamy taste. I find that margarine is too salty, and when it is not, it tastes something like shortening but greasier. In order for me to like it, it has to have that butter taste. Usually the people who use butter take some out of the fridge and leave it on the counter or have it in the warm setting in the butter section of the fridge so it is easier to spread.

I don't use butter or margarine. I use Smart Balance. It has a certain blend of the good fats you need, rather than the bad ones.

I would prefer to use butter. utter has a wonderful taste. Also it is completely natural. However,m it is high in fat. Some margarines asre much lower in fats nowadays. Although margarine is not natural & full of chemicals, I use it for the lower fat content.

I usually just get margarine because it's cheaper but I prefer butter. I make it myself whenever I can and the way I do it, it turns out very creamy and easy to spread. I don't salt it either but I don't really know how much of a difference that really makes.

I always buy margarine because I have always thought it was better for you. Now I have read that margarine is one molecule from being plastic! SO next time I go to the store, I want to try some real butter.

I'm actually thinking of switching back to butter...did you know that in the long run, butter is actually healthier for you as long of course you don't go overboard with it---They've found out that margarines in general can actually raise chlorestoral levels more than butter! Anything with hydrogenated oils like in margarine are the pits...I've always loved the taste of butter anyway...mmm...nice melted butter on freshly baked bread, garlic bread, veggies, and better taste for cooking and making different sauces

I prefer margarine because I think that butter are made from animal products and because of that, they contain high amounts of saturated fat which when absorbed into your body, increases the level of bad cholesterol. Saturated fat are hard to be metabolised by the body so they accumulate in the body. Margarine, on the other hand is high in unsaturated fat which is easier to be metabolised by the body. But beware, consuming unsaturated fat won't lower your cholesterol level, it may even increase it because the body itself will also produce cholesterol. I suggest consuming Oats to reduce cholesterol level. Both butter and margarine are hazardous. Too much of anything is harmful. So beware of your intake.

They are both not really great for you, but you have to have one at least...Margarine is better in spreadability..

NEITHER. PARKAY makes a spray bottle that's around ONE dollar that lasts forever, has no calories and is FULL of taste. Great for corn on the cob too! Just point and spray. No FAT, cholestoral -nothing! Keep those veins happy!

I love butter the best. If you get whipped or butter spread, you will not have a problem with it being hard.

I prefer to have butter, instead of Margarine. I prefer to take while butter, instead of salty butter and I do not put salt in white butter, while eating it with my bread.

I prefer butter big big time. The problem with it though are various: it puts on even much more weight, and it's really hard to spread on a loaf of bread or a biscuit, and that really drives me nuts, so i end up having margarine most of the time. But i prefer butter.

I love real butter but like the spreadability of margarine. Unfortunately both are off my diet now. My husband and I both use the new fat free sprays. Some are nasty and some taste pretty darn good. I've gotten so used to them now and my cholesterol has gone down so much I don't think I'll go back to butter except on special occasions.

I guess that I've always used margarine because it is cheaper, but a recent post by pyewacket has started me re-thinking my choice. It goes into great detail about all of the problems with margarine. I have not switched yet, but I am seriously thinking about it. I love the taste of Blue Bonnet.
