As some of you may already know, I work in a hotel on the graveyard shift. I had a young couple come in a few hours ago who acted like they hadn't eaten in weeks. They had stoped by Taco Bell before coming in and the woman stood shoveling it into her face while I was taking her boyfriend's info to rent them a room. She asked a few questions with a mouth full of burrito, sour cream on the sides of her mouth and strands of cheese hanging out. She was shoveling so fast, I had to fight not to stare in awe. When they left, there was shredded cheese all over my counter, meat and cheese on the floor (some of it stepped on) as well as an opened pack of hot sauce she had tossed on the counter and left. What a PIG!!! Luckily I had time to clean up before the next guest came in. I was nice and had given them a discount, but after the mess she left, I regretted that and was tempted to take it back. I wonder if they were on drugs...

Yeah, I didn't even think about how they were in the room. But if something is destroyed, we have the right to charge the person's credit card for damages. They were using his grandmother's card. I hope it was with permission...

Geez.....you're right, what slobs. Even if I'm famished and really hungry, I don't shove food in my mouth like that, not even at home. Well lets face it, some people have forgotten what the word Manners mean....yuk and then to leave a mess like she did all over the counter and floor like that.

That is amazing. Most people put on their "best" face out in public, especially when eating. If they can create that kind of mess at the counter without any regard, I can't imagine what their room will look like in the morning to the maids. Interesting thought.

Thst sounds reaaly bad that someone taalks with a mouthful of food and then leaves a mess for someone else to clean up. I guess they thought that it was not there place and they did not have to clean up there mess, someone else will do it for them. I hate people like that that dont clean up there own mess. I fell if you make the mess no matter where you are you should clean it up or at least try and clean it up and then if someone says no I will get that for you then it is ok to leave a mess but you should never assume someone will do it.

My roomie used to be a switchboard operator at some large hotels here in Austin. She didn't work the front desk for various reasons. But she should could tell you horror stories. Like the guy who wanted her to park his car.
Gee, maybe I ought to start writing up her stories - or maybe i can get her to write them up since I share the stories with her when they relate to her.
